The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 167

If Yi Chen didn’t begin to imagine certain things at this moment then he wasn’t a man. Faced with the one he likes kneeling before his crotch like he was about to perform some type of special service he couldn’t help but have some expectations.

He subconsciously licked his bottom lip while placing his hand that Zi Han wanted to grab onto the headrest of the seat. That hand had committed a shameless act and he didn’t want Zi Han touching it.

Zi Han grabbed the other hand and begin to pinch his palm while saying, “Your hands are so rough.”

Yi Chen subconsciously adjusted his sitting position and asked, “Do you dislike it?”

Zi Han shook his head in refusal as he kept pinching his palm. Yi Chen felt a bit better but he still wasn’t reassured so he asked, “Was that boy better than me..... I mean as, as in the massage?” fumbling on his words.

Zi Han raised his head and smiled while looking up at Yi Chen’s face. “His hands were too soft. Of course, I prefer it if you do it.... It’s just that you are very stingy,” he said with the latter sentence spoken with his head lowered again.

Zi Han began to playfully trace the lines on Yi Chen’s palm while negotiating, “How about you up the days to four in a week? My muscles really get sore from all that laborious training.”

Yi Chen drew back his hand but Zi Han caught his wrist and pulled him back. “Chen-ge, do you want me to go back to the spa...,” his voice like that of a boyfriend trying to convince his girlfriend to do it without a condom.

.....

Despite the consequences, Yi Chen was very much interested and wanted to take him up on that offer. He cleared his throat while peeling Zi Han’s hand off his wrist.

“Sit properly first so we can talk nicely,” he said his voice low-pitched and slightly hoarse. His Adam’s apple bobbed before a light exhale escaped between his parted lips.

Zi Han looked at him and with a charming smile he said, “Chen-ge, are you thirsty?”

Yi Chen’s breath hitched his heart pounding hard against his chest. Of course, he was thirsty. He was thirsty as fuck but how to say it? The tips of his ears felt so hot and the heat was rushing toward his face.

His nose had already stopped bleeding but at the rate at which things were going, he was going to have another nose bleed. However what Zi Han said next instantly doused the fire running rampant in his body.

“I can get you some water if you want... here,” said Zi Han completely unaware of what Yi Chen was thinking.

Yi Chen, “....”

Okay, it was indeed his fault. It was his own fault that he overthought it. Zi Han handed him the bottle of water as he stood up.

But before he could go back to his seat a loud proximity warning was issued and with a sharp swerve the hovercar changed course and Zi Han’s body was flung away.

Zi Han felt a strong arm pull him into an embrace and shield his body from hitting the frame of the hovercar.

As soon as the vehicle came to a stop Zi Han opened his eyes and he was met by Yi Chen’s anxious expression. “Are you okay?” asked Yi Chen his arm hugging Zi Han tightly unwilling to let him go.

Zi Han blinked absentmindedly for a second tracing Yi Chen’s face with his gaze. It took Yi Chen rubbing his cheek with his thumb while calling his name softly to bring him back to earth.

“Han Han,” he said and Zi Han who had been staring at him came back to his senses.

“I am fine....,” he replied before hastily sitting up, “are you okay?”

Yi Chen nodded his head before helping him get up. His back was a little sore but it wasn’t worth mentioning.

“Raylan.... what’s going on?” he asked and the AI system promptly responded.

“Sir a portal just opened in the middle of the road causing a multiple vehicle accident,” it responded as a floating screen with live footage from the outside appeared.

He could see a cluster of vehicles rammed into each other while a beast smaller in size than when compared to the ones they fought was engaged in battle with Capital Star’s defense system, Sheba.

The portal had already disappeared like it meant to release one beast before it closed. Due to the previous attack on Captial Star, Sheba had received a massive upgrade and thus it was especially ruthless tearing the creature to shreds.

“Should we.....,” asked Zi Han his gaze transfixed on that beast attempting to flee despite having its arm and legs shot off.

Yi Chen shook his head with a thoughtful expression. There was absolutely no need for them to go over and help. The defense system would take care of everything.

His heart at this point was in turmoil. What happened today would happen again in the future putting Zi Han at risk. He had to find out how to stop this otherwise if anything happens to Zi Han he won’t know what to do.

He shifted his gaze and looked at the youth standing right next to him. Zi Han was still looking at the screen his expression serious like he was thinking about something. Yi Chen’s hand subconsciously reached over. He was about to touch Zi Han’s hand but his hand froze as he grazed the back of Zi Han’s hand with his fingers.

Zi Han absentmindedly hooked Yi Chen’s finger with his as though reassuring him. His heart beat quickened as he shifted his gaze away.

From his expression, one couldn’t tell that his inner self was so happy that he could jump for joy. This was indeed a sign. Zi Han must have been moved by him and wouldn’t refuse him if he confessed his feelings, right?

***

“This is unacceptable.... very unacceptable. Someone has to account for this!”

“Admit it, Marshal Yi. You have failed to perform your sworn duty which is to protect the federation and its people.”

“No one is safe. My family can’t even go outside with confidence. Who knows when the next portal would open and wreak havoc?”
