Thrown Into A New World: Let The Punishment Begin!

Chapter 939

However, he did not rush to answer her with the intention of giving her a taste of her own medicine.

While he took his own sweet time to reply, his mind went back to the events of the past and how he had landed himself in this current situation.

At the King’s birthday celebration, Prince Fritzen was both annoyed and amused when he noticed that the Young Miss of the St. Claire mansion was so blatantly trying to ignore him.

Though they had met not once but twice, she pretended to not know him and had focused her attention only on the King back then.

She even smiled at his little sister, the Princess, as though to acknowledge her presence but did nothing of that sort to him.

This had not sat right with him and he was determined to change this attitude of hers that she directed toward him.

.....

However, Prince Fritzen himself did not comprehend why he wished to do this as she was the one who had humiliated him in the past.

Thus for the next few weeks, as he resided in the Royal Academy, he had been pondering over this matter deeply.

He even sought the advice of his close friend in the Academy who helped him come up with a solution for the problem he was dealing with.

Prince Fritzen was sensible enough to not reveal crucial information regarding the identity of the person he was talking about but only shared what was necessary to figure out what to do.

Thanks to this, even now, his friend had no clue that they had been talking about the only daughter of the St. Claire family.

However, the solution they found by combining their intellects was one that he had implemented right away.

The next weekend when Fritzen had headed back to the Capital from the Royal Academy, he did not return to the Palace right away but made a detour to the St. Claire mansion.

The men responsible for Fritzen’s safety during his journey were those whom he trusted, servants of the Sycamore Palace, who obeyed his commands wordlessly.

Only the King’s orders were above Fritzen’s so they did not stop him when he put his plan into action, instead, they supported him by keeping everything a secret from the rest of his family.

Prince Draco, the only person who could have stopped him, was away from the Palace and did not return as frequently as Fritzen did.

This allowed the young Prince to act as he pleased while also making sure that what he was up to did not reach his uncle’s ears.

Thus began Fritzen’s attempts to get to know the daughter of Earl St. Claire in an attempt to figure out why she always managed to get on his nerves and also pretended to not know him.

The solution that the two friends had come up with previously was just that.

Interacting with the younger girl to figure out what was going on was the plan he had set into motion.

Since he was sure that she would not speak about their interactions with any outsiders of her own accord, he knew that his visits to her mansion were safe from being exposed.

Thus every alternate weekend when his uncle wouldn’t be in the Palace, Fritzen made his way to the St. Claire mansion.

His sudden arrival in this household using his true appearance did cause a wave of chaos to arise.

However, the Earl and his old butler managed to arrange everything to suit his status and tastes soon enough.

They also took necessary precautions to ensure that his arrival here did not spread outside.

For this, the Butler and one more maid were the only ones who served them, not allowing any other servant near this part of the mansion while the Prince was here.

In this way, he was freed from his worries and thus had begun approaching Yvonne St. Claire every chance he got.

Each month, Fritzen appeared in this mansion to have tea with the young girl at least twice.

Initially, their interaction was limited to a simple greeting before the old butler would serve them tea, following which he would leave the room to stand guard by the door.

However, now it seemed that their relationship had somehow warmed up as she even took the initiative to strike up a conversation with him.

‘She only used to ask when I’ll be leaving in the past.’ Fritzen harrumphed when he recalled the list of similar questions she tossed at him in an attempt to send him away.

Thankfully, he had grown accustomed to her approach and stuck around until he completed his tea before leaving.

Now she did not hesitate before asking him whatever she had in mind which in today’s case was regarding what the Queen and Princess were up to.

In the past as well, Yvonne had asked him about the rumors going around in their society, hoping to learn the truth from him.

Since there was nothing to hide, he had disclosed how his mother was trying to make it up to his little sister for the way she had behaved in the past.

Attaining this information was definitely a startling discovery for Yvonne who had been under the impression that the Queen was acting on the command of the King and nothing more.

She had seen the Queen smiling at the Princess during the King’s birthday celebration but declared it to be a facade before the nobles to avoid any rumors from spreading.

Therefore, a strange expression of confusion and bewilderment had formed on her face when the Prince had revealed this matter to her a few months ago.

He had found her reaction odd and could not grasp why she was behaving this way because he wasn’t aware of the details concerning this world as much as she was.

Yvonne had read the script which perfectly expressed the Queen’s displeasure towards her daughter so it was obvious that she was baffled when such an unexpected shift had occurred in the path that this world was supposed to take.

She did not know what had caused this change and even upon inquiring the Prince about the same, received a negative reply.

After all, even Prince Fritzen was ignorant of why his mother’s attitude towards Felicia had changed in the past year or so.

Nevertheless, he was just glad that things were beginning to get better for his sister who had always yearned for their mother’s care and attention only to be neglected in the end.

Unaware of the complicated thoughts in Yvonne’s head, the Prince had moved on to boast about his mother gifting a whole new wardrobe filled with clothes suitable for the Princess a while ago.

He also revealed that the Princess’ maids were reprimanded harshly when she had fallen ill during the cold winter months.

The Queen had personally cooked a medicinal soup famous in her native land meant to heal common illnesses for the Princess’s quick recovery.

These were just a few of the incidents which Fritzen had narrated to the young girl he pestered on days he returned to the Capital from the Academy.

This made Yvonne one of the only people outside the Palace to know such detailed information about the Princess and the Queen.

___

Right now, she was waiting for his answer to her latest query but only received silence in return.

‘What is he thinking about?’ She tilted her head and narrowed her gaze at the young prince who sat motionless before her.

Even clearing her throat did not work the first time, making her try once again.

“Ahem!” She was louder this time, succeeding in attracting his attention at once.

Fritzen, who had been lost in thought about how he had spent the last few months growing a steady communication with this girl, finally came back to his senses.

Coughing slightly, he recalled that he had been asked a question so he got right to it now that he had made her wait long enough.

“My mother is teaching Felly how to play the piano.” Fritzen disclosed what the two ladies of the Royal family could be up to right about now.

He had returned to the Capital an hour ahead of his usual schedule to spend more time in the St. Claire mansion.

Therefore, right at this moment, based on his knowledge of the schedule his mother followed, she must be in the Rose Palace, teaching the young Princess how to play the piano.
