Chapter 1135 Adventure Inside the Cave

The one who came out was a loose cultivator at the high-level True Immortal stage. Only half his body was left and a black energy was eroding away his life force. And yet, despite being on the brink of death, he revealed a smile of joy.

“How is it?” Sword Saint Windflow moved over and asked. At the same time, he flicked his hand and a medicinal pill blew up, transforming into vapour-like energy to land on the cultivator’s wounds. Thanks to the power of the medicinal pill, the black energy gradually disappeared. Although the wounds on the cultivator had yet to heal up, it was now under control.

Chen Feng could see that it was a recovery-type immortal pill, and quite a decent quality one at that. He was slightly surprised to see Sword Saint Windflow’s willingness to bring out such a medicinal pill for this.

When the cultivator saw Sword Saint Windflow appear before him, a wary look appeared on his face and he thought of backing away.

“Don’t worry, I won’t do anything bad to you,” Sword Saint Windflow said coolly.

But the cultivator continued to remain silent.

“How troublesome! Wait here. We’ll get back to you once your wounds have healed up.” Sword Saint Windflow shook his head, not asking anything else.

On Chen Feng’s end, his eyes lit up and a stream of light flew out to land on the cultivator’s body. In response, the cultivator shuddered and he attempted to break away from Chen Feng’s gaze. Chen Feng, though, smiled and retracted his gaze. He had discovered a Divine artifact fragment on the cultivator’s body earlier.

For most True Immortals, obtaining a top-grade Immortal artifact was already a good thing. The fragment of a Divine artifact, on the other hand, was truly a treasure. It was no wonder this cultivator was worried that others would snatch it away from him.

Next, a second cultivator came out. This person was an heir disciple. After he came out, in the face of the coercion of Sword Saint Windflow and the others, he brought out an item.

It was a ding with a missing corner. Although it did not look particularly impressive and was somewhat shabby, Chen Feng could instantly tell that it was a low-grade Divine artifact. Only, much of its Divine attributes had been lost. In Chen Feng’s opinion, just one punch from him was enough to destroy it.

For the disciple, however, it was already quite a good treasure. He would be able to study some of the grand daos inside it for his usual cultivation sessions.

“Focus on your recovery.” Sword Saint Windflow simply nodded his head. After giving some instructions, they continued to wait.

In the following month, a total of 10 cultivators managed to come out. Practically every single one of them had managed to gain something inside. The biggest harvest there was a mid-grade Divine artifact’s fragment. Seeing that surprised even Chen Feng. As for the four Heavenly Immortals, their eyes turned red. However, they did not snatch the fragment away.

Looks like these fellows still have some principles. Chen Feng smiled.

Maybe there is an even more important issue awaiting them.

“It’s time we head in.” After a round of discussion, Sword Saint Windflow and the other Heavenly Immortals decided not to wait anymore. In their opinion, the number of cultivators who could emerge from the cave had exceeded their expectations.

“Senior Brother Chen.” The four Heavenly Immortals came to stand before Chen Feng, where they hesitantly spoke up.

“What? Is there anything?” Chen Feng said.

After pondering for a while, Sword Saint Windflow said, “Senior Brother Chen is a genius valued by our sect’s higher-ups. I hope that you will not enter the Grotto of Souls. It is too dangerous inside. Even Heavenly Immortals could die inside.”

“If so, why did you fellows pick me for this mission in the first place?” Chen Feng retorted bluntly.

“Err.”

“There is a reason for that. Since the very beginning, we had received an order from the higher-ups to not have Senior Brother Chen face danger.”

“Is that so? In that case, I will not go in. You fellows just do whatever you want,” Chen Feng said, smiling.

Although they weren’t too trustful of Chen Feng’s words, Sword Saint Windflow and the others entered the cave anyways. Interestingly enough, after the four of them entered, the cave disappeared.

A sneer flashed across Chen Feng’s face. His divine sense rippled outwards to enter the seas of wisdom of the cultivators who managed to make it out from the cave. It did not take long before he found out everything that they had encountered inside the cave.

Next, Chen Feng’s eyes shone with light. Like two highly-compressed mini suns, his eyes cast a piercing gaze at the space before him.

Chen Feng had activated his Divine Eyes of Heavenly Insight.

The rest cast curious looks at Chen Feng.

After some time had passed...

“Here!”

Like a blade, Chen Feng’s gaze cut open space.

“You guys, wait outside. I will head in to check it out.” After giving Tie Zhen and the others the order, Chen Feng’s figure flashed into the spatial crack to disappear from sight.

“Flag Captain, what do we do? This Grotto of Souls is very dangerous.”

“We’ll wait here. We cannot disobey his order.”

...

As Chen Feng entered the cave, he sensed an invisible power sweeping through his whole body. The power was highly formidable, causing even Chen Feng to shiver. It was something born from the depths of his heart. Chen Feng had a feeling. Should this power attack him, he would simply be incapable of blocking it.

This is the power of space-time. Additionally, there is also soul power mixed in. The soul power of a Gold Immortal. Chen Feng knew what it was.

After entering the cave, Chen Feng then landed on solid ground. His divine sense spread out like flowing water and he inspected his surroundings. Just now, he had searched through the memories of 10 cultivators and found that all 10 encountered different scenarios after entering the cave. The only common factors there were that it was dangerous and they managed to obtain treasures in the end.

Chen Feng was in no rush. Step by step, he moved forward and it did not take long before a wave of bloody light burst forward as a blood fiend barrelled towards him, roaring as it did. In its hand was a bloody blade, which slashed towards Chen Feng.

A blood fiend at the Heavenly Immortal stage! Chen Feng fired out a punch and the roaring sound ended as both the bloody blade and blood fiend was smashed to pieces.

Sou!

A black beam of light flew over to entangle Chen Feng, who responded with a slash of his sword, cutting down the dead soul sprite.

Yet another one at the Heavenly Immortal stage. Those True Immortals back then truly possess Heaven-defying luck to be able to escape alive. Chen Feng chuckled.

Next up, dead soul sprites, blood fiends and vengeful spirits appeared non-stop. The most formidable force Chen Feng encountered was a group of six yin-type creatures at the Heavenly Immortal stage. They had appeared at the same time to besiege Chen Feng. However, after a round of brutal battle, Chen Feng killed them off one at a time.

I have yet to find a single useful item. How depressing. Chen Feng reached out with one hand to grasp and a dead soul sprite was captured. Fire shot out from Chen Feng’s hand to refine the dead soul sprite into a wisp of pure soul power.

Humph! If there is nothing good, I will just have to make one myself! Chen Feng then waved his hand and his sword fired out wave after wave of sword energy, which rushed forward in an overbearing manner. Chen Feng’s eyes shone brightly as he kept utilizing the Divine Eyes of Heavenly Insight.

I wonder where those fellows went off to? Chen Feng continued his advance. The path inside the cave was a winding one. Additionally, there was also the power of space mixed in. Thus, Chen Feng himself could not tell just how far he had gone.

Eh, a damaged sword! Chen Feng moved to stand before a stalactite-like pillar and smashed it apart with a swing of his palm. A sword, mottled with rust, fell into his hand.

A low-grade Divine artifact. It has lost much of its power. It will not be particularly useful, but throwing it away is quite the waste. I should just keep it. Chen Feng shook his head.

This broken lance is a low-grade Divine artifact.

This worn-out jug is also a low-grade Divine artifact.

This iron whip is quite good. A pity, not even a Divine artifact can withstand the power of time.

This small copper bell is quite good. It must be a soul-type magic treasure. A pity, the power inside it is already on the verge of depletion.

How peculiar! Did this place serve as a storage space for weapons a hundred million years ago? There are quite a lot of magic treasures. Unfortunately, they are all damaged. It looks more like a rubbish dump.

Along the way, Chen Feng came across a number of damaged Divine artifacts. Other True Immortals might consider those items as treasures or at least, good items. For Chen Feng, however, they were not good enough. The only reason he chose to collect them was because he wanted to study them in detail. After all, these magic treasures may still contain Divine attributes. Secondly, there were uses even for trash. It was possible for him to use them as materials. At any rate, these were Divine artifacts. Even though damaged, it should be possible to extract some materials out of them.

How disappointing. There is nothing I find attractive. I should just go find those fellows. Chen Feng then utilized a secret tracking technique to begin searching for Sword Saint Windflow and the others.

Before they entered, Chen Feng had taken certain actions to leave some imprints on them. Naturally, they had been incapable of noticing Chen Feng’s actions.

Not strong enough. Chen Feng shook his head and he secretly linked up to the Blood Mustering Bead. The power of a Divine artifact thus poured into Chen Feng’s body and his strength began rising. As expected, he soon succeeded in locating some clues on their whereabouts.

Found them!

Taking a different path, Chen Feng then sped up. At the same time, he utilized a secret technique to conceal every part of his aura and energy waves.

Danger? How peculiar! I can actually sense great danger. What is the source of this danger? As Chen Feng moved forward, feelings of alarm emerged from the depths of his soul, but he was unable to identify the source.

It is probably Sword Saint Windflow and the others. In the end, Chen Feng found Sword Saint Windflow and the other three Heavenly Immortals.

The four of them were standing before a portal as they discussed something. Secretly observing it all, Chen Feng noted that the portal was not too large. Only, it was unknown what materials were used to create it. Its surface was filled with runes. Every one of the runes was a formidable array.

“We’re unable to break these arrays.”

“Of course not. These are arrays left behind by an expert. Our strength is far from sufficient. We can only rely on outside forces.”

Sword Saint Windflow said as he brought out a piece of milky-white jade. He mobilized it, causing it to shine with a dazzling light. Next, a great hand emerged from the light and swept towards the portal.

The great hand was purple-gold in colour and every one of its fingers was filled with power. Palpitating power could be sensed coming from the centre of the great palm.

The palm attack of a half-step Gold Immortal. I wonder if it can break open this portal. Chen Feng’s eyes narrowed. At the same time, the power of a Divine artifact created layer after layer of barriers around him.

Now was not the time to act strong. His safety was of utmost importance.

Pa! Pa! Pa! Pa! Pa!

Everywhere the palm went, the lights on the surface of the portal would flicker out. Every such incident signified that a rune was being erased.

The thunderous sound caused Chen Feng to back away again, for fear of exposing himself. On the other hand, Sword Saint Windflow and the others remained safe and sound. It would appear that the power of the purple-gold hand was protecting them.
