Infinite Potential System

Chapter 209: Cave

None of Supreme Left\'s Artifacts or life-saving measures activated, which spoke volumes of how much time the shadowy figure spent preparing for this moment. The other Cultivators were scared stiff by this sudden development, unsure if the newcomer was an ally of the boy or not.

As Supreme Left took his last breath, a wisp of light exited his mouth, which was immediately crushed by the shadowy figure known as Tenebris. Any hope of revival for Supreme Left was destroyed in that moment.

"What powerful senses you have, and what interesting gear you are wearing." a voice said in awe as the figure fully condensed from Supreme Left\'s lifeless shadow. The black-cloaked figure looked at William with unconcealed interest as he evaluated William\'s equipment.

"Tenebris..." Wentor recovered from his shock as he recognized the man. He shouted at the black-cloaked man, "Tenebris! We are both from the Azures Continent, why would you betray your leader?

As far as I know, your organization has protected the Yu Royal Family for almost a hundred years. Why would you kill your own?"

Tenebris calmly turned away from William and looked at the man who had just spoken, "My ties to the Azures Continent are all the more reason to do this. You know nothing, stay out of my business!"

As he spoke, one of the metal poles flew out of his hand and pierced through Wentor\'s leg, who screamed in pain as the Artifact absorbed his vitality as well. The man pulled at the metal pole with great strength, but his efforts were fruitless.

"Help me!" he called out while two others rushed over to help him retract the pole from his leg.

Tenebris ignored the three and returned his attention to William and his two companions but cursed when he saw the group had vanished from view. In their place was a long-distance portal that was rapidly closing, too fast for Tenebris to reach in time.

"Shit, now look what you\'ve done." he looked at the group of nineteen Cultivators that dared to interrupt him.

Uri and Atticus exited the portal first, scanning the environment with suspicion in case they had teleported to a dangerous location and the enemies were still nearby.

William exited the portal last. He dropped to his knees and took deep breaths as his Mana Reserve that was just filled dropped to nearly zero.

The portal he had just created took too much Mana, using all of his reverse Domains to ensure maximum control over the portal, while also pushing the range to its limit.

William didn\'t know how far he had gone, but it couldn\'t be less than a few hundred kilometers. He looked around to see that they were in the center of a cave tunnel large enough to fit two Uri\'s side by side. There were two paths to take, either forward or backward.

William turned on his Navigation Radar and waited for it to scan the environment. In the meantime, he looked to the Flame Dragon and asked, "Uri, do you know where we are?"

"We\'re in a cave!" Atticus suddenly said.

"Yeah, no shit." William lightly smacked the Mythical Rat Snake on the back of the head, who shook his head and slithered a few meters away while giving William a betrayed look.

Flame Dragon Uri sniffed a few times, then looked down the path in either direction, "I don\'t know either, but we could be in a mountain. The only mountain chains I know on the Azures Continent are in the north." he looked back at William in awe, who was the sole reason for their current location.

If William remembered correctly, the northern region was known as the Hillvire Empire, a region separate from the usual Sects and riddled with noble factions. The Rhio Ancient Family and the Yu Royal Family both had a headquarters here, although neither had a large presence.

William had arrived in the new World in the Far West Forest region of the Azures Continent, in Thin Creek Village. Two thousand kilometers directly East was the Providence Zone, and another two thousand kilometers past that was the start of the Far East Mistlands.

South of the Providence Zone was the Southern Plains, which William didn\'t know much about, while three thousand kilometers north of the Providence Zone was the Hillvire Empire where Uri suspected they were currently.

With William\'s improved understanding of the world, he knew that the Continent was roughly six thousand kilometers from East to West, and almost eight from North to South. If the Continent had perfectly smooth edges and there were no terrain features, it would probably look like a rectangle.

"Are you saying that I teleported us at least three thousand kilometers with a single portal?" William asked.

Uri nodded, "That\'s exactly what I\'m saying. I didn\'t expect it to be possible, but we are lucky the portal put us in a cave. We could have been crushed instantly by the mountain if the portal was a few meters further in any direction."

William turned pale. He wasn\'t even sure if his various Talents could help him if he was permanently stuck inside a mountain. Atticus wouldn\'t last more than a second, and even Uri would probably slowly suffocate.

At least those old guys probably can\'t find me now. William thought.

He checked his body for any sort of tracking method, then asked the System to check as well.

-There\'s a dust particle on your left shoulder that belongs to the Space Mage. He may be able to track you.

William immediately opened his Earth Domain and eliminated any traces of dust from his body, then checked with the System again to ensure that it was gone.

He quickly modified a few Arrays on his cloak that changed his features from before, then looked at his two Magical Beast companions, "We need to go, they tracked us here."

"How do you know? Master William?" Uri asked.

"I just do. Come on, it\'s better safe than sorry even if I\'m wrong." William ordered as he checked the Navigation Radar that had just finished scanning. While doing so, he gave Atticus some Mana Regeneration Pills while consuming some of his own.

He followed the path behind them, the elevation slowly rising as they walked. The tunnel stretched on an on, eventually widening while William spotted a hint of sunlight in the distance.

He hastened his pace and stepped out of the cave entrance into a layer of fog so thick that even his Vision Talent couldn\'t see through it. Moments later, the fog cleared up and William regained his sight, but he didn\'t take another step forward and instead took a step back.

"Amazing..." William awed at the scene before him.
