Getting $10 Trillion Out Of Nowhere

Chapter 492 - 492: Punching Above One’s Weight

“Are you lying to me?” Sadie stared at Connor.

“Why would I lie to you? This 500, 000 dollars is nothing to me!” Connor replied to Sadie with some disdain.

When Sadie heard that Connor didn’t want the money, her impression of Connor finally improved.

However, when she heard Connor’s words, her impression of Connor began to decrease greatly.

“Does it hurt not to brag? You said you wanted to buy a house for my mother in Royal Villas, and now you say that 500, 000 dollars is nothing to you. Do you think 1 don’t know who you are?” Sadie said disdainfully to Connor, then continued, “I’ve already heard from my mother that you can’t even afford your tuition fees. Moreover, you have to rely on delivering food to make a living. Have you ever seen 500, 000 dollars as a delivery man?” Connor looked at Sadie with a faint smile, not explaining anything.

He knew that Sadie wouldn’t believe him no matter what he explained, so he might as well save his breath.

“You really don’t have the money my mother gave you, right?” Seeing that Connor didn’t say anything, Sadie continued to ask him.

“No, I’ve already returned the bank card to your mother. If you don’t believe me, you can go back and check on that!” Connor said lightly.

Sadie hesitated for a moment. She felt that Connor was not lying, so she looked at Connor and said, “Alright, since you don’t want the money, forget it. I’m going shopping with my friends later. You can go home!”

Sadie had no intention of bringing Connor along.

“Okay!” Connor looked at Sadie and nodded, then turned around and walked to the roadside.

Sadie looked at Connor in disbelief.

Sadie thought Connor would follow her, but she never thought Connor would agree so readily.

Sadie looked at Connor’s back and suddenly felt a little guilty because her attitude toward Connor was bad. She even had the urge to call Connor back.

However, Sadie thought of the gap between her and Connor and what Connor had said just now, so she finally suppressed this impulse.

‘Sadie, the gap between you and Connor is very big. The two of you are not from the same world at all.’ Sadie sighed in her heart and left.

Two hours later.

Sadie bought the daily necessities she needed for the start of school and then returned home.

When Candace saw Sadie come back alone, she asked Sadie in confusion, “Sadie, why didn’t Connor come back with you?”

“He went home after we bought the things!” Sadie replied lightly.

“Then why didn’t you bring Connor back? I was planning to invite Connor for dinner!” Candace shouted unhappily.

“Ah, Mom! Connor is from a different world. We can’t be together!”

Sadie knew what Candace was thinking, but she had never said anything to save Candace’s face.

However, Sadie seemed a little impatient, so she frowned and said to Candace.

“That’s right, that kid is not worthy of my daughter at all. One should not punch above one’s weight!” Tony snorted and continued, “1 think Mr. Statton’s nephew is more suitable for Sadie!”

The nephew of Mr. Statton that Tony was talking about was Sheldon Statton, Sadie’s admirer in high school.

Tony was at a plateau in his career. If he wanted to take another step upward, he would need the help of an influential person.

Without the help of the benefactor, it would be difficult to move forward.

He knew that Sheldon, the nephew of the deputy mayor of Rockford, had been pursuing Sadie. Mr. Statton mentioned this to Tony a few times, but Tony never got involved.

However, when Connor came over this time, Tony realized that the gap between Connor and Sheldon was too big. He decided to get Sadie and Sheldon to be together.

Candace wanted to matchmake Connor and Sadie, while Tony wanted to matchmake Sheldon and Sadie.

When two people had different ideas, they would naturally have a huge conflict.

Therefore, the two of them started arguing as they talked.

After Sadie heard her parents’ argument, she became even more annoyed. She turned around and went back to the bedroom. Then, she picked up Candace’s bag and opened it.

When Sadie saw that Connor put the bank card that Candace gave him back into his bag, a strange look flashed in her eyes. She couldn’t help but sigh softly. “I didn’t expect Connor to reject this!”

In a building under construction in Porthampton.

Five or six burly men grabbed the two girls and dragged them into the building still under construction.

At this moment, the two girls were curled up in a corner. Their faces were very pale, and their eyes were filled with deep fear.

One of the girls was wearing a tight-fitting T-shirt. She looked very charming and had a very hot figure. Her chest was ample.

The other girl was dressed up a little more sexily. She was wearing a tube top and a short white skirt. Her slender and fair legs were exposed without reservation, making her exceptionally charming.

These two girls were none other than Connor’s ex-girlfriend, Mandy Hines, and Mandy’s best friend, Lily Sullivan.

“Mandy, you should know who we are, right?”

The leader, a burly man with a scar on his face, asked Mandy.

“I do, I do…” Mandy curled up in the corner and nodded gently.

“Since you do, then I will cut the crap short. When will you pay back the twenty million you owe us?” the scar-faced man asked in a low voice.

“Julio, can you give me a little more time? I will return this money to you!” At this moment, Mandy’s face was filled with fear as she replied with a trembling voice.

“Haha…” When the scar-faced man heard this, he couldn’t help but sneer.. Then, he said with a straight face, “Give you a little more time? Mandy, how many times have you said this to me? How much time have I given you? But where is your money?”
