Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 2422: Sea of Wildbeasts

“It’s fine. Maybe I’m just overthinking it.... I need to stay calm.” Tianming’s intention now was to hole up in the council hall and never come out.

“Ling’er.” He rejoined the girls, all of whom looked worried.

Lin Chongyao had already reported Chi Hun’s conspiracy to the first rex mundi. He and Lin Xiong came over to Tianming.

“How is it?”

“I couldn’t talk to the rex mundi, but the enforcers told me they’ll pass it up to her. Grandnorth will probably make a report as well,” Lin Chongyao said.

Lin Xiong considered it. “I’ll immediately use all of our Myriadsword Emporiums to spread Chi Hun’s conspiracy. We’ll say someone personally saw those three thousand corpses being dropped from his ship.”

“It’s too late. The ebons’ control on public opinion means they’ve probably already spread their fake news to all of Ebonia by now, inciting public wrath.” Lin Chongyao shook his head.

“We have to do all we can,” Lin Xiong said.

“Yes.”

They spread the news while protecting Tianming, and also got their other peers from the traditionalist faction to quickly come over to the council hall.

“Changkong, if the second patriarch doesn’t come back, we may be in trouble,” Lin Chongyao suddenly said.

Lin Xiong shook.

“We may already be in danger now. Tianxi and that alien monster are outside, watching and waiting.” Lin Chongyao took a deep breath. “I’ll summon a thousand experts from the first branch to guard the council hall.”

“Me too.”

“Get the others to do it, too.”

Tianming stood in a corner, quietly listening to their arrangements. However, anger was growing inside him. “Enemies on all sides… is it my fault? Did I bring this calamity to the Lin Clan because I tried making up for my father’s sins?”

“Don’t think like that. The Lin Clan’s situation isn’t due to you. Grandfather and the rest still wouldn’t have been able to resist if we hadn’t come,” Feiling comforted him.

“You don’t need to worry. Look into the future. I blindly trust you,” Xiaoxiao comforted him as well.

“Little Fish, say something as well,” Tianming said.

“Me?” Weisheng Moran’s lip curled and her eyes lit up. “I feel like those who have conviction and a goal in their hearts are those who win.”

“Yes! Let’s pass this calamity together.” Tianming took a deep breath and looked to the council hall’s entrance. “Honestly, I’m worried Lin Jie and the rest will lose their bottom line and directly attack me while I’m in the council hall.”

“I don’t think so…?” The three found it hard to believe.

“To be blunt, Uncle Changkong may not make it back from the Lifeless Chaoshole, and someone will definitely intercept my grandfather and grandmother. When something happens to them, the balance of power in the council hall will shift. Lin Jie’s group will immediately seize the initiative. After suffering last time, they’ll go insane this time. They’ll ignore public opinion and popular sentiment to kill me, then hand the Lin Clan over to the ebons! Even if the people aren’t willing, without a leader and with Lin Jie further eliminating dissidents, the entire clan will end up surrendering. They really might take the risk with so many benefits.” Alarm bells were blaring in Tianming’s mind.

Was the council hall necessarily safe? Not true, many could enter! Furthermore, there was Tianxi, who was almost unmatched within the Infinitum Swordsea, and the mysterious alien monster, to boot.

And the strongest by Tianming’s side, Lin Changkong and Lin Xiao, had left.

“Now that they have such a good chance, they won’t miss it. If my grandfather, Lin Changkong, and I all have unfortunate incidents, even if half the Lin Clan curses at them, it won’t shake Lin Jie and the rest!” That group of people had never feared the Lin Clan’s collapse anyway, as they’d always believed they could rebuild as long as the Infinitum Swordsea remained.

When Tianming said that, the girls’ worries grew. They were all too young and were still unable to fight those cosmic cartographers who had cultivated for thousands of years.

“What should we do now, Big Brother?” Feiling felt a headache coming on.

Tianming looked at them. “With Huang Qi, I won’t die. What I’m worried about is you three. Use Little Fish’s formation to hide yourselves. If what I predicted comes to pass, I’ll lure them away.”

They all shook their heads.

“How can you be sure that Tianxi and the alien monster can’t kill you?” Xiaoxiao said.

“Just be obedient, you don’t need to worry about the rest,” Tianming said.

Xiaoxiao’s gaze wavered. She knew Tianming was protecting them.

“Ling’er, bring them to hide,” Tianming said, his voice growing more stern and severe.

“I understand.” Feiling clasped her hands in front of her and gazed at Tianming. Her tone was soft as she gravely said, “If it doesn’t work, I’ll come to accompany you.”

There was no hesitation in her voice.

“Then I’ll have to try my best.” Tianming smiled.

Could he possibly be being too paranoid? Would Lin Jie and the rest really seize the opportunity, even if they had to be the sinners of the clan and suffer countless curses? Others may doubt it, but he felt the moment was fast approaching.

“Dad, your mission is really too exhilarating.” Tianming rubbed the collar on his neck, his gaze gradually turning chillier until the killing intent within was palpable.

……

The towering mountain known as Mount Taia was currently violently shaking. Above and underground, countless wildbeasts had formed a beast tide that was trying to climb the mountain’s northern face.

Mount Taia had no lamps, so it was pitch-black throughout. However, a golden scorching sun was on the mountainside. It was the Grandnorth Dongshen Clan’s Dongshen Scorching Sun Guard Formation, the target of the beast wave.

However, that was only above ground. Below, the wildbeasts had already become an endless sea.
