Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 2007 - One Wielding a Sword, Two Carrying a Coffin (4)

There was barely an instant to react. All Tianming wanted now was for his lifebound beasts to get out of the way while he tried using the Grand-Orient Sword to block it. However, Ying Huo and the rest didn\'t run away.

"We ain’t avoiding shit!" Ying Huo cried, before charging toward the solar lance without the slightest bit of hesitation, intercepting it before it could reach Tianming. Then Meow Meow, Lan Huang, Xian Xian, and the many bodies of Yin Chen followed suit.

"You guys!" He instantly felt himself tearing up. "You\'re all crazy!" He never expected that they wouldn\'t obey him. This was the immediate reaction of all of them, who were all too willing to use their bodies as shields for the rest, even at the cost of death! Were they really Primordial Chaos Beasts that once roamed and dominated the cosmos?

Despite their usual flippant demeanors, they couldn’t be moved once their minds were set. The only thing Tianming could do was move in front of them even more quickly! With how large the coffin was in its current form, the only difference was who took the blow at the front first. Not to mention, given the distance between all of them, there wasn\'t enough time for him to take them back into his lifebound space.

The blinding pillar of light instantly engulfed everything in front of them in flames. Tianming paved the way with his Grand-Orient Sword, forcefully clearing a region with the Imperealm Sword Formation. While Ying Huo and Meow Meow could shrink and hide behind him, they did the exact opposite and shielded him instead.

"Stop, you crazy shits!" he cried, his lungs bursting. As much as he wanted to grab them, everything had happened in an instant. The courage they were showing melted all traces of anger from him.

The fact that I\'m able to spend this lifetime with you all, experiencing all the highs and lows together, makes it all worth it. That was the last thought he had before being swallowed up by the pillar of flame. His life had completely changed since the little chick had hatched, followed by the others. It was a journey filled with joy and laughter. All of them were individuals with their own minds and souls. They were never his pets, but rather his precious siblings and partners.

"Live on!" he beckoned, making it sound like an order. The Flint Infernal Impulse\'s power was activated to the maximum to form a gigantic red shield, which shattered from the blast mere moments later. The shockwaves sent everything around him flying in all directions. Being just a human with a relatively small body, he wasn\'t able to shield his lifebound beasts from the damage. The sheer energy in the explosion made it feel like his body was being vaporized and scattered! Apart from his left arm, the rest of his body couldn\'t compare to his lifebound beasts in terms of toughness.

All of a sudden, a shield appeared out of nowhere and cut off the rest of the attack. It was Ying Huo\'s Infernal Shield, and in front of it were a pair of wings that took the final blow of the Flameyellow Coffin! Heaven and earth seemed to shake from the blow that appeared to destroy the universe itself, but the wings persisted until the Infernal Shield shattered.

"Ying Huo... you guys...." Tianming felt like his throat was on fire. All he could do now was blame himself for his small body, but he had already tried his best. The rest of the Flint Infernal Impulse lasted only a few moments, having taken seven-tenths of the attack\'s destructive force. Otherwise, there was a good chance that his lifebound beasts would have been vaporized just like that.

Even so, the shockwaves from the strike still shook the entire Flameyellow Guard Formation. Raging flames shot straight toward the astralscape above; it looked like a solar lance had temporarily manifested.

"Are you guys okay? Headcount, now!" Tianming yelled his lungs out. Never had he been so fearful in his life. Thanks to Ying Huo’s Infernal Shield and the cosmic impulse, he wasn\'t that badly hurt and could easily recover with the Greenspark Tower. However, his lifebound beasts were his life itself!

"One!" Xian Xian weakly said, having been well protected. Lan Huang and Meow Meow had come to its aid, knowing that it fared the worst when faced with fire.

"Two!" Lan Huang roared. "There\'s a hole in my back! My tortoise bones are visible!" Tianming almost facepalmed at how the dragon called itself a tortoise.

"Three!" Meow Meow energetically said. Every single voice gave Tianming some much needed relief.

"Ying Huo?!" he shrieked, searching for the bird amidst the sea of flames.

"Stop shouting! Are you sick or something? I\'m waiting for Yin Chen to report first! Four is an unlucky number, you know! It sounds just like death! I don\'t want that!" Ying Huo cried, seemingly in pain. At the very least, Tianming was relieved that it was still alive.

"That\'s wonderful!" He felt the relief of having survived a great tribulation. Even he couldn\'t help but feel his tears well up after this close brush with death. All of them relished in the great fortune of having survived.

"Little Li is fine! Waaaah! I was so scared we’d be wiped out!" Xian Xian cried. The tears that came out of its dryad form endlessly flowed, like it was a leaking spout.

Right as they were marveling in relief, an angry voice resounded near them. "You all... so happy... for what? Aaagh! Damn it! I lost... all of... it agh! Why did... nobody ask... if I... was alive?!"

All of them were stunned. They noticed that the tens of millions of Yin Chens around them had been wiped clean. It had taken ages and tons of divine ores to even make so many bodies to begin with, only for them to be wiped clean!

"So what?" Tianming and the rest broke into laughter. "We all knew that you\'d never really die even after all of us are gone."

The Myriadworld Immortabeast wasn\'t named that without good reason. Tianming wasn\'t the least bit worried. It still had millions of bodies in the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb, let alone the countless cockroaches across the sun.

"Oh no! I\'m dead! Someone please... pity me!" Yin Chen\'s feigned cry of pain gave the rest the urge to kill it for good. There were less than a thousand silver eggs in the vicinity, all of which were hiding on Tianming and the others\' bodies.
