Chapter 173: 173. New managment

The moment Lucius stepped in, Camilla\'s eyes lit up with joy.

"Young leader."

Hearing this, Reina glanced up and smiled.

"You\'re finally here."

Even the large man, who had been focused on his shield, stood up with a rather goofy grin.

"Boss!"

Seeing this, Lucius simply waved his hand.

"There\'s no need for formalities. I\'m asking now—is everyone ready and prepared for the next task?"

At his question, Reina\'s stunning face twisted into a beast-like grin.

"We\'ve been preparing ever since you gave the word, and my boys are raring to go."

A cruel smirk curled onto Lucius\'s lips as he slipped on a dazzling pair of purple gauntlets.

Clenching his fists, ominous arcs of purple electricity crackled between the gauntlets as Lucius felt his heart race with anticipation.

"Well, since everything\'s in order, let\'s not wait around any longer. It\'s time to take back what\'s rightfully ours!"

...

An unknown amount of time later, under the light of the setting sun, a group of vicious-looking people gathered in a rundown villa on the outskirts of the city. They sat around a large, worn table.

At the head of the table was a sallow-faced man with blackish-green hair and narrow eyes, giving him the appearance of a lurking serpent.

Eventually, a gruff-looking man couldn\'t stand the silence any longer and spoke up.

"So, what did you call us here for, Van? I was supposed to lead the boys in raiding a set of cargo being moved by the Iron Lion gang. Now I\'m going to miss it."

Hearing this, another man, tall and beanpole-like, with a vicious scar across his face and two thin swords strapped to his back, chimed in.

"I agree with him, Van. If you\'ve summoned us without a good reason, especially with the two young masters involved, you won\'t get off easy."

As the two men spoke, Van silently cursed them in his mind. He wanted nothing more than to draw his sword and slit their throats.

They were just mere 2nd-class fighters, yet they dared to jump around in front of him, a 1st-class fighter, all because the young masters were using them to check and balance him. In truth, they were useless pawns, too dumb to see it!

Eventually, Van managed to calm himself down and responded.

"You think I called you here for no reason? The actual reason I summoned you is because of the two young masters. They even said they\'re coming in person. We need to discuss the next instructions. This isn\'t just about petty crimes anymore—these are matters tied directly to the Montford family."

As the group of gang higher-ups heard this, they took a deep breath. The Montford family was a true titan, and their affairs could never be underestimated.

But at the same time, while they felt a twinge of intimidation, they were also thrilled. Wasn\'t this the very reason they had joined the gang led by the twin brats of the Montford family in the first place?

Who knows? Maybe this could be their chance to finally leap across social classes. Even if that wasn\'t the case, at the very least, they could be rewarded with treasures that would greatly increase their strength.

But just as the group was beginning to get excited about the newfound opportunity, loud cries and roars echoed from the compound outside.

Everyone seated at the table frowned in unison.

Eventually, the gruff-looking man couldn\'t take it any longer. He stood up, his face contorted with berserk rage.

"Which bastard dares to cause trouble at such an important time?"

Before anyone could respond, a body was suddenly hurled through the door, crashing onto the table with a sickening thud.

The victim\'s face was twisted in horror and despair. The gang higher-ups could only watch in shock as the man vomited a mouthful of blood before passing out on the spot.

The gang higher-ups, now alarmed, turned their gaze toward the door, eager to see the people responsible for such a terrifying presence. They weren\'t disappointed.

In the center of the group was a man who instantly captured their attention. He was devilishly handsome, with hair as black as night and a pair of blood-red eyes that seemed to lead straight into the infernal pits of hell.

He walked with a confident gait, exuding a commanding aura reminiscent of an ancient dragon spreading its wings and declaring sovereignty over the world.

Flanking him were two angelic yet deadly women. One had purple eyes that shimmered like dizzying gems, her hands gripping two gleaming daggers. The other was a bold, fearsome fighter, dressed provocatively and wielding a giant war axe already stained with blood.

Behind them all was a man who could only be described as a living mountain. Standing a head taller than everyone else, his fierce face sent chills down their spines, and the muscles of his body bulged like granite boulders, making their scalps go numb at the sight.

"Who are you?" the gruff-looking man demanded, the arrogance and boldness in his voice vanishing as quickly as a gust of wind.

Lucius smirked, his eyes gleaming with cold amusement.

"We\'re the new owners of this place. Your previous bosses have been dealt with, so consider yourselves under new management. Unfortunately for you, there will be some... layoffs."

As Lucius spoke, the gang leaders felt a chill run down their spines. It didn\'t take a genius to realize this group was brimming with bad intentions.

But these men were the leaders of the gang, hardened and ruthless individuals who thrived on the edge of danger. If someone dared to intrude on their territory, they were prepared to kill without hesitation.

The beanpole-like man, true to his vicious nature, didn\'t waste time on introductions or threats.

With a swift motion, he tore a spell scroll, summoning a massive burning fireball that roared to life and hurtled toward Lucius and his group.
