Chapter 976: A Trip to the Inheritance

Chapter 976: A Trip to the Inheritance

"Ah. The one that could speak our tongue." Thankfully, that statement was more than enough for Julian to understand what Valyr wanted to know, prompting him to become silent as he pondered over the words he\'d say.

"After I had some of the guild\'s staff members take care of Zaurog for a while, I enlisted the help of those at the frontlines in having the orc work as a spy for our race," Julian told Valyr, to which the young man nodded in response as he continued listening.

"Fortunately, that orc you brought immediately yielded to our requests of obtaining information on the orcs, promising to cooperate with the humans as much as possible."

"To be honest, the fact that Zaurog was more than willing to aid us in the war efforts is quite surprising," said Julian, letting out a chuckle as he glanced at Valyr. "I suppose you had a hand as to why the orc\'s like that?"

In response, Valyr merely smiled, recalling the sheer dominance he showed in front of Zaurog just when he had gotten out of the inheritance.

"What\'s Zaurog doing now, then?" Not wanting to talk about what happened the moment he got out of the inheritance in detail with Julian, Valyr decided to move the topic along its natural path with a question.

"Currently, he\'s back with the other orcs, acting as our liaison deep within their ranks," replied Julian, his expression now slightly serious.

"Frankly, I\'m doubtful that he\'ll keep sending us the information we need as time passes since we\'d only been able to teach him everything he needed to know within a couple of weeks."

"Then again, the frontlines say that he\'s still cooperating with us every once in a while, which is good," the man continued. "In any case, it\'s not like we\'d lose out much if he were to defect back to the orcs. There are other ways out there to gather information, after all."

"I see." Though asking about Zaurog was more of an impulsive thought than intentional, Valyr still nodded in understanding, feeling his curiosity of the orc\'s current situation be satiated.

Talking a bit more about the war after that, the young man eventually asked if he get a way to contact Zaurog, thinking to himself that the connection with the orc would prove useful once he made his way to the frontlines.

After all, it would allow him to finally make headway into An\'xhur\'s quest as long as he knew what he was doing.

Thanking Julian after the man had readily given him the information he needed, it was only then did Valyr finally leave the workshop, feeling a hint of lethargy hit him on his way back to the inn.

Grabbing a bite from a small eatery along the way, Valyr eventually arrived at his place somewhere around the afternoon, feeling relief wash over his body as he made his way to his part of the room.

Lying on the bed, it did not take long for the fatigue he\'d been ignoring during the forging process to kick in, causing him to fall into a deep sleep not long after.

-

"That was a good sleep."

Feeling his consciousness finally return to the waking world, Valyr slowly got out of bed, giving his body and mind the time it needed to become fully awake before going through his daily routine.

Naturally, with how often he\'d gone through his routine at this point, it only took a little bit over 10 minutes for him to finish, changing into a set of clean clothes as he got out of the bathroom.

Ordering a bit of breakfast for himself from the inn, he then brought up his status screen to see how much had passed since he\'d slept, letting out a faint sigh of relief after seeing that he\'d only slept through the whole day yesterday.

"Ever since I\'ve slept for three days straight, I\'ve always made it a habit to check how much time has passed while I was asleep," muttered the young man to himself, letting out a self- deprecating chuckle as he closed his screen.

Gazing out of the window to admire the scenery of the kingdom in silence, Valyr eventually heard a knock from his door a few minutes later, immediately signaling to him that his breakfast had arrived.

Receiving the breakfast, he then devoured the entire thing in a matter of minutes, letting out a sigh of satisfaction the moment he was done.

"I guess I\'ve held it off for quite some time already." Thinking about what he should do next, Valyr soon recalled the conversation he had with Julian regarding his search for a place he could call his own.

With the thought in mind, Valyr brought up the chat function in his mind, readying it as he soon willed a part of his mind to make contact with a certain place.

Swoosh!

Within seconds, a rift to a somewhat barren world appeared before him, causing him to slightly smile as the sight beyond the rift reminded him of a lot of things.

"Time to make a trip to the inheritance," said Valyr to himself, disappearing from his room as he stepped through the rift soon after.

...

Whoosh!

Arriving back at the inheritance he\'d spent quite a lot of time in, Valyr went ahead and took a look at his surroundings to figure out where he was currently.

"I\'m at the plains," surmised Valyr once he felt he\'d looked around for long enough, activating [Flight of the Azure Dragon] after that to obtain a better vantage point.

Swoosh!

With the azure dragon forming underneath his feet, the young man soon found himself hovering over tens of meters in the air, prompting him to nod after he confirmed his earlier

hypothesis.

Orienting himself to head towards the west quadrant of the city ruins, Valyr then made use of the chat function he opened before entering the rift, sending a message to a certain person

with it.

"Vlrvadh, tell the Sapient One that I plan on discussing a few things with him."

"Also, could you wait for me at this specific location? Thanks."

After making sure that the other side had received his messages, it was only then did the young man zoom through the air on the azure dragon, arriving at the west quadrant not even five minutes later.
