God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.

Chapter 494: Frost Temple and Supernova.

The power of a God. He could sense it flowing through him. Even all the magic in the world couldn\'t compare to it.

The symbol of the Blood God of War, was a Blood Eagle, a creature that herald the beginning and end of slaughter. Many creatures worshiped this Deity during its reign as it one of the forerunners in the eternal war against the Devils.

However, this supreme Deity had been killed...

Killed by none other rlthan the Godkiller himself;

Ashur...

Was history about to repeat itself, or would today mark the beginning of change...

With a maddened roar, Guy swung forward. The power within him finally had an outlet, pouring out of this body through his arms and into his axe. The axe head glowed red hot, and a beam of energy shot out, turning into an illusory eagle.

The surface of the water split in two, towering above them within the blood fog. The blood in the blood fog mixed into the waves and surged towards Cain.

It was like Armageddon all over again. The power of thousands of tons of bloody water pouring down on his head.

Any normal person would have been mentally overpowered before being smashed into beings asfter being bored through by the Blood Eagle.

And yet, Cain stood there, seemingly waiting for his death.

Time seemed to have come to a halt. He was within his own mind, calmly observing what was coming.

There was no fear, no hesitation, nothing...

Just acceptance, and a bit of excitement...

His lips turned purple in an instant...

"Frost Temple..."

He tapped into the power within him; Not metaphorically...

But quite literally...

The {Elemental Vault} opened up like the gates of hell itself and from its depths came an icy chill that seemed to imprison time itself in its eternal frost as well.

If there was one thing Cain didn\'t lack, it would be control over mana. Even then, he could barely control this ancient frost. This energy came directly from the Dimension of Energy; a place where no living, breathing, mortal being could last long.

The energy within was extremely volatile, and trying to control it was almost as difficult as trying to bullride a comet through a solar storm.

The moment the {Elemental Vault} opened, the world itself froze.

The {Blood Eagle} that shot towards him froze midflight. The towering waves of bloody death, even the misty Blood Fog...

It all froze over.

And it didn\'t end there. The surface of the ocean beneath him turned into a huge land mass of ice that spread in all directions. Behind him, the glacial continent split open, and a shimmering temple that seemed to be made from ice crystals rose. Snow began to fall from the sky, condensed from the moisture in the air and sky. Some of it settled on him, and turned into a robe of white, flowing ice.

It was strange... And yet;

It was beautiful, adorned with ornaments of ice that glinted with bright light even though the light of the sun couldn\'t break through the pearly blankets.

Guy was stuck to the spot, covered in ice. A perverse chill spread across his body, penetrating deep into his bones such that he couldn\'t move.

He beyond baffled. Cain even moreso, as right now, he couldn\'t move as well.

There was one reason;

The spell had affected him too. Within the frosty realm, he was the ruler. However, he was also a victim of its influence.

The power of the {Frost Temple} was just too much, even for its caster.

\'F-f-f-fuck!\' Cain couldn\'t help but cry out internally.

However, he had accomplished his goal. By unleasing half of the ice star within the {Elemental Vault}, he had managed to trap Guy in this state.

Right now, his body was filled with Divine might. One could even say he had inherited a portion of the Blood God\'s legacy permanently. Meaning very soon, once he got the hang of this power, he could possibly over power him.

Cain would rather not have things come to that. So instead, he decided to make use of a trump card, although he would have preferred not to make use of it.

Cain let out another breath. Then he forcibly moved his body. Although it was difficult, he could still move. The same couldn\'t be said about Guy.

"Y-y-you..." Guy tried to say something, but the shivering of his teeth made it difficult.

Cain grinned at him, "How do you like it? Feels comfortable, no?"

If glares could kill, Cain would have long since met his maker. Unable to move, despite all the power flooding his body, Guy could only roar like a wild beast.

"Fucking coward! Come here! I\'ll kill you!"

The ice on his body crackled due to this, but along with that, sprouts of blood followed from the skin split behind it. Still, Guy didn\'t seem to mind as he tried willing his body forward.

Cain sighed, "Your arrogance was well founded. You are a powerful opponent, but you aren\'t the worst thing I\'ve faced."

Cain\'s face grew as cold as the frost he had called forth,

"The greatest and final mistake you\'ve made in your life was deciding to cross me. Reflect on it on the other side."

After saying what he wanted, Cain sighed. It was time to end things.

Dealing the finishing blow was not going to be easy. Although Guy was trapped in ice, he wasn\'t going to be easily killed. His vitalty was such that he could probably last like this for a month or two before his body gave in to the biting cold, or the ice melted.

He needed something strong. Strong enough to kick his bucket in a single blow.

Luckily for him, he had just a thing...

Seeing as he himself couldn\'t make any excessive movements right now, he could only cast a long distance spell. And that spell was;

"Infernal Celestial Art: Supernova."

Ice and Fire... Frost and Flame...

Ice to bind, and fire to annihilate...

A smoldering of flames ignited around his outstretched hand, gathering within his palm.

{Supernova} was the fourth step in the Infernal Celestial Art. The first and Second, {Flame Orb} and {Imploding Star} came together to creat the spell, {Vampiric Star}.

Once the {Vampiric Star} gathered within itself an overwhelming amount of energy, it would be unable to bear its own weight, and would collapse in on itself; Imploding, but releasing an incredible about of flame energy as well.

And then, there was the mystical aspect. This implosion further fueled the flames, opening a small portal to a realm enveloped by Infernal Flames.

For just a fraction of a second, the soul devouring flames would seep out of the infernal dimension and mix in with the flames he summoned, increasing their might exponentially.

And all this happened... In but a moment.

The mass of smoldering flames gathering in Cain\'s grasp became so large, it looked like a mini star.

It almost seemed like over kill. However, Cain knew that it was just right. To kill something like Guy, he would need incredible means.

This was the highest of respects one could give to a powerful opponent.

To kill them with all your might!

Cain took in a deep breath. Maintaining control was key. He not only had to control the {Frost Temple}; {Supernova} absolutely couldn\'t go berserk. It that happened, he risked the possibility of being devoured by his own flames.

That would be quite embarrassing.

As such, he did his best to control the flames. The heat was so intense, the layers of ice beneath his feet was melting away.

However, because frost energy was constantly pouring out of the {Elemental Vault} that had yet to be closed up, it was constantly being regenerated, even to the point that the ice continent being created by {Frost Temple} was further spreading every second, albeit much slower.

Finally, Cain was unable to hold on anymore. Right now, the orb of flames gathered in his hand was constantly twinkling, as though on the verge of explosion.

Then, with all the control he could muster, Cain sent it forward...

Meanwhile, Guy continued to struggle against the ice prison he was encased in. However z the more he tried struggling, the worse it became. His hands and feet were numb, and he was having great trouble breathing.

Still, he could see all what Cain was doing.

He could also feel a scalding heat wash over him. Having both heat and ice acting on him at the same time was absolutely torturous, but at least 5he heat gave him a bit of earth. Enough warmth for him to regain some motive force.

As such, he stretched out his hands and cracked the layer of ice covering them. Gritting his teeth and ignoring the blood pouring out of his hands that was constantly freezing over, he grasped the handle of his axe, ready to face whatever it was coming for him.

He was determined. He was not going to die here!

He absolutely couldn\'t allow it!

If he died, his ambition died as well. That was even more unforgivable.

As such, he incited the power rumbling deep within him. It poured out of him, giving him a second wind. Boundless physical might!

Sadly...

That was all it was. Facing with something comparable to a tenth of a tenth of a dwarf star exploding, even the strongest of bodies would be turned into star dust.

The moment he let go of the spell, Cain felt drastic weakness overwhelm him. Still, he watched as the orb of flames vahisged from his hand, travelling straight for Guy. The ice beneath it melted away and turned to steam, and the steam rose up into the sky, turning into a trail of clouds.

With a loud yell, a stream of blood-colored energy gathered around Guy as he smashed his axe upon the mini star.

It exploded...

And took Guy\'s life, alongside a large swath of ocean with it...
