I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 988: Cosmoem

Chapter 988: Cosmoem

However, as the Pokémon hatched, a notification sounded in Yuga\'s mind. Unfortunately, all his attention was focused on the newly hatched Pokémon, so he ignored the system\'s notification.

...

Cosmoem (Directional Mutation)

Type: Psychic, Ghost

Ability: Sturdy

Gender: None

Potential: Unknown

Level: Unknown

Moves: Cosmic Power, Teleport

...

This freshly hatched Pokémon is the Cosmoem, a legendary Pokémon from the Alola region, and it is the pre-evolved form of Solgaleo and Lunala.

Originally, the egg should have hatched into Cosmoem\'s initial form, Cosmog. However, upon absorbing the Ghost-type energy surging from the Ghost World portal, Cosmog evolved into Cosmoem at the moment of birth and underwent a mutation.

Of course, this is Yuga\'s personal guess. In reality, this Pokémon underwent an abnormal transformation due to unconventional methods used by Bridges.

Bridges found this egg while on a mission in the Alola region and, after researching extensive literature, he learned of its identity. This is why he treasured it so much.

Cosmoem has two evolutionary branches: one is Solgaleo, known as the "Beast that Devours the Sun," and the other is Lunala, known as the "Beast that Calls the Moon."

Bridges is a Ghost-type Pokémon Trainer, and he naturally hoped that this Pokémon would evolve into Lunala, a Ghost-type Pokémon. Therefore, he used special methods to induce the mutation of the Pokémon even before it hatched, which Yuga\'s Insight ability described as "Directional Mutation."

In other words, this Ghost World portal only served as the trigger for the Pokémon egg to hatch, not the cause of its mutation.

However, Yuga was unaware of this and assumed that Cosmoem mutated due to its absorption of a large amount of Otherworldly Ghost-type energy.

The system did know that the Pokémon egg had already mutated, but Yuga never asked about it, and the system couldn\'t remember to remind him.

Cosmoem spent a lot of time with Yuga in the egg, so it was very familiar with his aura. Sensing Yuga\'s presence, it used its Teleport move to instantly appear by Yuga\'s side.

Cosmoem\'s size is incredibly small, only about the size of Yuga\'s palm, or even slightly smaller. When it got close to Yuga, it knocked Yuga staggering with a light bumped into him.

Cosmoem\'s weight is 999.9kg... truly concentrated essence! Even if it lightly bumped into him, it carried considerable force.

"Cosmoem!"

Cosmoem quickly realized what had happened and blushed slightly on its dark face.

However, this issue was quickly resolved. Cosmoem, as a Psychic-type Pokémon, could control its own weight using its psychic power. Yuga soon found that he could easily hold Cosmoem.

Rather than saying he held it, it was more like he cradled it in his hands because it was so small.

Cosmoem\'s outer appearance was a golden metal shell that had a very textured feel when touched. This outer shell provided Cosmoem with strong defense, ensuring that this legendary Pokémon would not die easily.

Underneath the metallic shell was Cosmoem\'s true body, which was deep purple in color and had a faint shimmering of stars. It looked very beautiful.

Yuga cradled Cosmoem and felt extremely delighted. He never thought that one day he would gain the favor of a Level 1 Legendary Pokémon.

Just as Yuga was still immersed in the joy of obtaining Cosmoem, Phoebe suddenly exclaimed, "Oh no, Trevenant is missing."

Yuga immediately turned his head and scanned around, indeed discovering that Trevenant was nowhere to be seen.

Trevenant was seriously injured and shouldn\'t have had the capability to move. Initially, they were busy dealing with the Ghost World portal and had neglected the injured Trevenant. They didn\'t expect it to take the opportunity to run away.

"We must pursue it!" Yuga said to Phoebe.

While Trevenant had run off, it couldn\'t have gone far in its weakened state. Its fleeing left long traces on the ground due to its injured condition, so it wouldn\'t be able to escape if they followed the tracks.

Therefore, Yuga and Phoebe, along with their Pokémon, hurriedly followed these traces. As for the old monk, he was too heavily injured to accompany them and remained behind to guard.

Meanwhile, the group of Pokémon that was rushing towards the Pokémon Tower suddenly heard rumbling sounds not far away. And not long after a massive brown tree appeared before them.

"What... what is that?"

Poliwrath asked, swallowing hard. At this point, it didn\'t even care about its sorrow anymore; the aura emanating from that gigantic Pokémon was simply too terrifying.

Furthermore, they had a foreboding sense of impending doom.

"I don\'t know," Wigglytuff shook its head.

"That\'s Trevenant, and it doesn\'t look friendly. Let\'s take a detour," Audino said with a serious expression. After the training under Joy\'s family, it had become capable of recognizing most of the Pokémon in the Pokémon world.

Just as the three Pokémon were preparing to turn away from Trevenant, a massive wooden mallet fell from the sky.

Boom!

The ground was smashed into a huge pit, with soil and grass flying everywhere. Thankfully, the three Pokémon reacted quickly, or they would have been reduced to pulp.

Trevenant quickly arrived near the three Pokémon, its crimson single eye filled with greed, as if it wanted to devour the three Pokémon right away.

It was too weak and needed a few Pokémon to replenish its strength; otherwise, it wouldn\'t be able to run.

The thought of losing several years\' worth of captured lost souls made it furious, and it couldn\'t understand how the Ghost World suddenly discovered this incident.

The three Pokémon who were attacked by the Trevenant was angry: You think we have no backbone, do you?

Seeing that they couldn\'t avoid the confrontation, Trevenant refuse to let them go. So the three Pokémon began to fight back.

Trevenant swung its gigantic Shadow Claw toward the three Pokémon. Poliwrath quickly used Ice Punch to counter, while Audino attacked with Fire Punch.

Bang! Bang!

Poliwrath and Audino were sent flying, and Trevenant staggered to the side. Surprisingly, neither side had gained a clear advantage.

Trevenant\'s injuries were too severe; otherwise, Poliwrath and Audino would stand no chance against it.

Realizing its condition, Trevenant became more determined to catch the three Pokémon to replenish its strength, as it couldn\'t escape the pursuit of the Ghost World Envoys otherwise.

With this in mind, it extended its Shadow Claw once again, reaching for Wigglytuff.

Compared to Poliwrath and Audino, Wigglytuff was a much easier target. In an instant, it was caught by Trevenant.

"Wigglytuff!" The pitch-black Shadow Claw pinched Wigglytuff, twisting its face in pain.

Seeing its best friend captured, Audino was infuriated. It swung its fists and charged forward, forgetting its inexperience in battle.

Poliwrath, seeing this, went all out as well.

Audino and Wigglytuff had been persuaded by Poliwrath to venture outside. If something happened to them out there, Yuga would undoubtedly not show any mercy. Poliwrath had witnessed Yuga\'s ruthlessness before.

However, just as Audino rushed to Trevenant, it was sent flying by Trevenant\'s other claw. Shortly after, Trevenant caught Poliwrath as well.

Trevenant was incredibly strong, and Poliwrath\'s plump belly was nearly flattened in its grasp.

Feeling the excruciating pain, Poliwrath gathered its courage and used the Belly Drum move, which instantaneously boosted its power to its maximum.

Belly Drum sacrificed half of Poliwrath\'s health to significantly enhance its attack. This move had a high power level.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Poliwrath\'s Ice Punch, boosted by the Belly Drum, hammered Trevenant\'s brown withered claw. Soon, the claw was covered with layers of solid ice.

Compared to the mutated Trevenant, Poliwrath was significantly smaller, it was like a chick In the palm of Trevenant hands.

However, with each punch from Poliwrath led to the formation of white ice climbing up Trevenant\'s arm, quickly freezing its entire limb.

With the arm frozen, the claw lost its grip on Poliwrath, who promptly climbed out and leaped onto Trevenant\'s shoulder.

At this moment, a beautiful pink beam fell onto Poliwrath; it was Audino below using Heal Pulse on it.

Support was Audino\'s primary role, and with the Heal Pulse, Poliwrath almost instantly returned to full health.

The Trevenant on the ground had its head knocked sideways when Poliwrath delivered a powerful Ice Punch to its head.

Furious, Trevenant, despite still holding Wigglytuff in its other hand, directly swung its Shadow Claw at Poliwrath\'s head. However, Poliwrath had already jumped down from its shoulder.

Roar!

Trevenant\'s Shadow Claw struck itself on the shoulder, tearing away the bark skin and causing dark green sap to ooze from the wound. The scene was gruesome, and sap spilled everywhere.

Meanwhile, Wigglytuff, which had been flung from Trevenant\'s grasp, was already unconscious in a nearby thicket.

Trevenant, supported by one arm, glanced at Poliwrath with a resentful look, seemingly wanting to devour it whole.

Poliwrath couldn\'t help but shiver.

However, it wasn\'t time to get distracted. Trevenant\'s next attack was imminent.

This time, Trevenant used a different move, not Shadow Claw but Shadow Sneak.

Suddenly, a sinister black hole appeared in front of Trevenant, and it extended one of its hands into it.

Following that, a similar black hole appeared behind Poliwrath, from which a giant claw suddenly emerged, capturing Poliwrath.

Poliwrath let out a scream and, under the effects of Shadow Sneak, became entirely incapacitated.

Trevenant was skilled in the Shadow Sneak move, which allowed it to silently slip away from Yuga and the others. It was this unique ability that helped it escape without being noticed.

Whoosh!

After defeating Poliwrath, Trevenant threw it toward Audino.

Audino, fearing that Poliwrath would be injured more severely, bravely caught Poliwrath as it flew through the air, then tumbled and rolled across the ground under the impact.

But this wasn\'t the end. Trevenant swiftly followed up with another attack, using Seed Bomb.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

As Seed Bomb landed, it created craters of various depths in the ground. Soil was thrown into the air, and grass debris scattered in all directions.

Audino hid the unconscious Poliwrath in a nearby thicket, while it continued rolling on the ground to dodge Trevenant\'s Seed Bombs. It was a desperate maneuver.

As time went by, just when it seemed that Audino couldn\'t hold on much longer, the bottleneck in its level finally began to break.

When Audino\'s power reached its peak, it broke through from pseudo-Elite level into Elite level.

The level breakthrough relieved Audino\'s struggles, but even though Trevenant was heavily wounded, it was originally a Champion level Pokémon. Audino could only barely defend against Trevenant\'s attacks and couldn\'t deal much damage. If Trevenant weren\'t injured, it would likely have overwhelmed Audino long ago.

Once Audino fell, Wigglytuff and Poliwrath wouldn\'t stand a chance.

Thinking of this, Audino gritted its teeth and counterattacked fiercely, giving its all in the battle.

Audino wasn\'t an offensive type Pokémon. It could only barely hold back Trevenant\'s assaults with its attacking moves, causing little damage. If it weren\'t for Trevenant\'s substantial health, it wouldn\'t have lasted this long.

Boom!

Trevenant attacked with Shadow Claw again, and the exhausted Audino failed to block it this time. It was sent flying, breaking through several large trees as it collided.

This time, Audino finally couldn\'t get up anymore, and with eyes closed, it saw the eerie shadow of Trevenant\'s ghostly claw descending.

"Am I going to die? But it sounds like I heard Yuga\'s voice." These were Audino\'s last thoughts before losing consciousness.

Yuga hadn\'t expected Trevenant to cross paths with Audino, and the ensuing fierce battle took him by surprise. Luckily, he arrived just in time as Trevenant prepared to attack Audino.

Whoosh!

Mismagius\'s Mystical Fire struck the giant claw of Trevenant that it was about to use to attack Audino. The searing flames ignited along Trevenant\'s arm, causing it to recoil and retreat its Shadow Claw.

Along with Yuga attack, Phoebe and the other Pokémon, also followed with their attacks. They overwhelmed the massive Trevenant, causing it to struggle and eventually fall to the ground, twitching and unresponsive.

Seeing that Trevenant was finally dealt with, Phobe breathed a sigh of relief, her tension finally lifting. She took out a Poké Ball and said to Yuga, "This Trevenant came from the Ghost World and broke Ghost World rules, so it can\'t be left in your custody."

Yuga, seemingly unconcerned, replied, "In that case, it\'s all yours."

With that said, he began tending to the injuries of Audino and the others.

Phobe nodded with satisfaction and captured Trevenant in a Poké Ball.

Among the three Pokémon, Wigglytuff had the least severe injuries and quickly woke up after Yuga\'s treatment.

However, Audino\'s injuries were much more critical, and Yuga\'s special ability alone wasn\'t sufficient for a full recovery, so they needed to find Florges for additional help.

Florges was still busy tending to the "collecting corpse" inside the Pokémon Tower.

After taking care of the three Pokémon, Yuga was eager to ask about Trevenant, but Phobe suggested, "Let\'s return to the Pokémon Tower first, and I\'ll explain the details there."

Yuga agreed and, together with Phobe, brought the injured Pokémon back to the Pokémon Tower.

Inside the Pokémon Tower, the injured Pokémon were all properly cared for, and no casualties occurred.

However, many of the Pokémon\'s memorial shrines had been damaged. This raised a challenging problem of how to explain the situation to the public.

The Granbull shrine had been ruined as well because he was buried on the 18th floor of the Pokémon Tower. That area was heavily affected in the battle, leaving no remains or ashes.

Wigglytuff and Yuga returned to the Pokémon Tower and, upon learning of this news, Wigglytuff broke down and cried. Yuga wanted to console Wigglytuff but struggled to find the right words.

Comforting Wigglytuff was challenging for Yuga, as words couldn\'t express the depths of his emotions.

Yuga learned about Trevenant\'s situation from Phobe.

Trevenant was a Pokémon guide that guided souls from the world of the living to the Ghost World. However, it had been breaking the rules.

When people and Pokémon passed away in the real world, their lost souls were guided to the Ghost World, from where they couldn\'t return unless they were unique cases like Trevenant or fugitives from the Ghost World like Yuga\'s Gengar and Mismagius.

Even for special guide lost souls like Trevenant, once they guided a soul into the Ghost World, they had to return immediately and couldn\'t linger in the living world.

A few years ago, the Ghost World lost track of a newly guided soul of Pokémon. Shortly after, this soul, now transformed into a Ghost-type Pokémon, vanished. Despite several years of searching, there were no leads.

Recently, a Pokémon guide near this Pokémon Tower accidentally spotted Trevenant, another Pokémon guide. However, it knew that aside from the soul it was guiding, there were no other souls near Pokémon Tower that need to be guided.

So, it would be strange for Trevenant to be appear here.

This raised suspicion about Trevenant\'s presence in the area, and the Pokémon guide discreetly reported Trevenant\'s actions.

After investigating, the Ghost World quickly discovered that Trevenant had been secretly visiting this Pokémon Tower each year, which was a serious violation of Ghost World rules.

So the investigation of Trevenant\'s actions fell into the hands of Phobe, the Ghost World\'s Envoy in this Hoenn region.

Phobe had an efficient approach to her tasks, and she soon found a link between the lost soul from years ago and Trevenant.

This unique Ghost-type Pokémon, born from the lost soul, was exceptional, and Trevenant had been secretly imprisoning it inside the Pokémon Tower, using its power to enhance its own strength.

The Pokémon Tower is the final resting place of this unique Pokémon, and Trevenant had no choice but to hide it there.

Once the investigation was concluded, the Ghost World tasked Phobe with capturing Trevenant. Unfortunately, Trevenant had been concealing its full strength. If not for Yuga\'s timely arrival, Phobe wouldn\'t have been able to capture it.

"I clearly saw Trevenant hide that Pokémon inside itself, but I\'ve searched everywhere and even this Pokémon Tower. The Pokémon doesn\'t seem to be here anymore. It didn\'t sneak away on its own, did it?" Phobe expressed her frustration.

Yuga was aware that the Pokémon she referred to was Mimikyu, the yellow, cloth-wrapped entity that was now residing inside his Shadow Space.

He was about to mention it when Gengar\'s voice suddenly whispered into his ear.

Surprised, Yuga paused and kept his silence.
