Chapter 704: Love Rival

Chapter 704: Love Rival

"Vivillon..."

Vivillon happily chirped towards Yuga.

"Well, congratulations to you," Yuga said, genuinely pleased for Vivillon.

Yuga had witnessed Vivillon\'s efforts and anxiety in its pursuit of this breakthrough, so he was genuinely happy that it had succeeded.

"Pokémon are truly amazing!" Zaden exclaimed, witnessing Vivillon\'s transformation.

"Yes, there\'s still so much we humans don\'t understand about Pokémon," Yuga added.

Vivillon\'s changes were beyond their current knowledge to explain.

"Also, congratulations to the Gym Leader Shimizu," Zaden remarked, noticing that Yuga\'s Vivillon had improved its strength. Vivillon\'s aura had undergone significant changes after the breakthrough.

"Thank you," Yuga replied.

Around noon, while Yuga and Zaden were having lunch, they suddenly heard Chatot on alert outside emit a sharp and unpleasant cry.

"Dear, come over here quickly! The troublemaker is back again," Yuga exclaimed upon hearing Chatot\'s voice, and both of them rushed outside.

As expected, the canyon had once again descended into chaos. Numerous Taillow and Swellow were darting through the butterfly swarm, relentlessly attacking the Beautifly.

However, what surprised Yuga was that this time, the leader of the Swellow and Taillow wasn\'t the Swellow, but rather a majestic Pidgeot.

This Pidgeot was incredibly large, with vibrant plumage and a proud demeanor, resembling a fighter jet.

The first one to confront this Pidgeot was Chatot, who had been on guard duty outside.

However, Chatot quickly fled in fear because this Pidgeot turned out to be a female, and she had set her sights on Chatot. During their battle, she even initiated mating requests.

This behavior was indeed quite bold.

Chatot was frightened to the point of fleeing, leaving the scene.

Yuga was also astonished by Pidgeot\'s audacious actions.

Luckily, Noctowl wasn\'t around; otherwise, this would have been a full-fledged battlefield, wouldn\'t it?

However, within the world of bird Pokémon, was Chatot really that handsome? Did it not usually tell lies?

Yuga was left with a question mark on his face.

Otherwise, why were all these female birds so smitten with him, one after another?

Both Noctowl and this Pidgeot seemed to be captivated by him.

In Yuga\'s eyes, whether it was their Noctowl at home or this Pidgeot, they were all outstanding individuals.

Compared to them, Chatot seemed rather unimpressive, neither imposing nor large.

Come to think of it, Yuga had often seen wild bird Pokémon outside showing signs of attraction to Chatot.

Chatot simply couldn\'t bring itself to harm a female Pokémon that was showing interest, so it would just flee.

In Yuga\'s view, Chatot\'s behavior was a textbook example of a scoundrel\'s actions. Why not just stand your ground straightforwardly instead of putting Noctowl in an awkward situation?

"Vivillon!"

Yuga called out to Vivillon, who was currently chasing after several Swellow engaged in battle.

Upon hearing Yuga\'s call, Vivillon instantly understood and flapped its wings, intercepting Pidgeot mid-flight.

"Chatot, go deal with those Swellow, and leave Pidgeot to Vivillon!" Yuga instructed Chatot.

Seeing Pidgeot being intercepted by Vivillon halfway, Chatot cast a grateful glance in their direction.

Pidgeot, on the other hand, looked increasingly irritated as her beloved one continued to distance himself from her.

This Pidgeot was quite formidable, with a green potential and not far from reaching pseudo-Elite level. She was the most outstanding bird Pokémon Yuga had seen in these past few days.

"Vivillon, keep it here," Yuga ordered.

Yuga called out to Vivillon, determined not to let such an outstanding Pokémon slip away.

Vivillon nodded in response to Yuga\'s call and raised one of its wings, sending forth a wind blade.

The Pidgeot had no time to react and was struck by the attack. Its vibrant feathers scattered as it plummeted toward the ground.

The Pidgeot was completely caught off guard and hadn\'t expected Vivillon to be so powerful. After regaining its composure, it spread its large wings and stabilized itself mid-air.

In mid-air, the Pidgeot ignited a blue "flame" all over its body and charged angrily toward Vivillon. This was Pidgeot\'s innate ability: Brave Bird.

Seeing the approaching Pidgeot, Vivillon unleashed a flurry of sparks with its Electroweb. However, the Electroweb was shattered by Pidgeot, leaving a gaping hole, and it continued its charge toward Vivillon.

Vivillon reacted by casting another Electroweb, which was again torn apart by Pidgeot, and then Vivillon cast a third one. This continued until five Electrowebs were broken, at which point Pidgeot\'s momentum began to dissipate.

The saying goes, "One thrust strengthens the next, two weaken the third." The consecutive collisions with the Electroweb gradually depleted Pidgeot\'s energy.

Pidgeot\'s strength had not yet reached a point where it could maintain the state of Brave Bird for a prolonged period. It was frustrated that its attacks were hindered before reaching their target.

Brave Bird had a recoil effect, but since Pidgeot hadn\'t managed to attack its target, the recoil damage didn\'t occur. However, the damage from Vivillon\'s Electroweb attacks still lingered.

Feeling the tingling sensation throughout its body, Pidgeot\'s muscles tensed up. While catching its breath, it was hit by Vivillon\'s wind blade again.

After a mournful cry, Pidgeot fell to the ground.

The wind blade Vivillon used was a derivative application of its Hurricane move. It couldn\'t do this before its breakthrough; its Hurricane attacks were always in the form of a tornado.

After the breakthrough, Vivillon had a more precise control over its flying abilities, which improved the concentration and power of its Hurricane-based move.

Vivillon pursued its advantage and, before Pidgeot could recover from the attacks, unleashed another wind blade.

This time, Pidgeot lost its combat ability.

With Pidgeot down, the remaining Taillow and Swellow lost their fighting spirit and were soon driven away by Yuga and Zaden, who worked together.

These Taillow and Swellow seemed quite loyal to each other. Even as they fled, they attempted to rescue Pidgeot, who had lost its fighting capabilities.

However, with Vivillon guarding Pidgeot, it released a Hurricane attack that kept the other Pokémon at bay.

The Beautifly also performed well this time. Perhaps they had all found their partners, as they put in a lot of effort during the confrontation.

Yuga wondered if his Noctowl would be furious when he realized he had brought home a love rival.

Yuga silently thought as he looked at the Poké Ball containing Pidgeot.
