I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 431: Weakness

Chapter 431: Weakness

The effect of Chlorophyll under sunny conditions influences Pokémon in two ways: it impacts their physical capabilities and their skills.

Regarding physical attributes, it enhances certain aspects of a Pokémon\'s body, granting them greater speed.

As the saying goes, "speed is the essence of all martial arts," and Pokémon with high speed often have a significant advantage in battles.

In terms of skills, Chlorophyll heightens a Pokémon\'s perception of energy. With this enhanced perception, a Pokémon\'s reaction time, attack speed, and attack frequency all experience corresponding improvements.

However, Ivysaur\'s evolution into Venusaur results in a bulky physique, so even with the physical enhancements, it won\'t become exceptionally fast.

Therefore, the defensive counterattacking strategy for Ivysaur is somewhat unconventional – a "speed boost" approach.

Ivysaur\'s inherited move is Power Whip, which manifests as countless energy-formed whips.

When Ivysaur employs this move, green energy whips surround it, providing robust protection. Thanks to the Sunny Day and Chlorophyll\'s effects, its reaction time and attack speed are significantly enhanced. These energy whips become its most formidable defense, capable of countering any attack swiftly and effectively.

In its Ivysaur Tentacle form, Ivysaur can retaliate against opponents while maintaining an impenetrable defense.

This training approach was recommended to Yuga by Mr. Kuni\'o. Coupled with the inherent defensive and offensive capabilities of Ivysaur upon evolving into Venusaur, Ivysaur has a promising future.

However, Ivysaur\'s Power Whip move is not yet at a stage where it can be controlled effortlessly. Therefore, this strategy is still in development.

Bellossom also possesses the Chlorophyll ability. However, its species traits and skillset differences mean it is better suited for a path focused on enhancing its physical abilities.

Boosting its already impressive speed, complemented by the power of Quiver Dance, is the direction it should pursue. In this regard, it shares similarities with Vivillon, except that Chlorophyll doesn\'t provide speed bonuses.

And so, Yuga and Gon spent a whole week on Mt. Moon.

During this week, both Gon and Abra, as well as Yuga\'s Pokémon, made significant progress.

After their special training, Yuga started leading Gon in battling and training with wild Pokémon on Mt. Moon.

The mountain was filled with numerous caves, making it a habitat for Pokémon like Diglet, Dugtrio, Sandshrew, Sandslash, Zubat, Golbat, etc. Which were generally of moderate strength. They were suitable opponents for Gon and Abra.

According to rumors, Mt. Moon had once been showered with a large number of meteorites, which led to its name. These meteorites had given rise to many Moon Stones, attracting numerous Clefairy and Clefable to inhabit the area.

Initially, Yuga was quite interested by these legends. However, after a full week of exploration, he hadn\'t spotted a single Clefairy or Clefable. He hadn\'t even found a fragment of a Moon Stone. Gradually, his interest waned.

During battles with Pokémon, Yuga quickly identified a fatal weakness in Gon – he was overly softhearted.

Perhaps influenced by his past experiences, Gon seemed to cherish life immensely, whether it was his own or that of Pokémon.

Every time they battled, he couldn\'t bring himself to deal a decisive blow to the opponent. He consistently missed critical opportunities during battles and, after the match, was immediately concerned about Abra and the opponent\'s injuries.

Yuga didn\'t view having a kind heart as a negative trait; it was a beautiful quality. However, being excessively compassionate to the extent of being a "Holy Mother" posed significant issues.

And Gon showed a noticeable inclination toward being a "Holy Mother."

Objectively speaking, Gon had an exceptional level of comprehension and combat proficiency, but his compassionate nature was holding him back.

Yet, Yuga had a plan to address this issue.

One day, under Yuga\'s guidance, Gon encountered a formidable Sandslash on Mt. Moon. Initially, Gon and Abra were capable of handling it, but Gon\'s soft-hearted nature caused him to relent in the crucial moment, forfeiting his attack against Sandslash.

Subsequently, both Gon and Abra fell victim to Sandslash\'s ambush, resulting in varying degrees of injuries.

Of course, Sandslash\'s attack on them was orchestrated by Yuga. He had Gengar use Hypnosis to control Sandslash.

Gengar\'s controlled Sandslash, however, acted with restraint, causing no severe harm to either of them. They were more startled than anything.

Though this method may seem underhanded, Yuga had no choice but to employ it to help Gon overcome his soft-heartedness.

As the saying goes, old habits die hard. One setback wouldn\'t immediately change Gon\'s gentle nature, so Yuga repeated this process multiple times until Gon gradually regained his resolve.

Over time, Gon realized that his soft-heartedness not only put himself at risk but also jeopardized Abra\'s safety.

Watching Gon gradually develop a more decisive attitude in battles, Yuga couldn\'t help but smile with satisfaction.

Being a father isn\'t easy, after all!

Finally, when Yuga and Gon were ready to leave Mt. Moon, Yuga\'s Charmander evolved into Charmaleon, and Gon\'s Abra evolved into Kadabra.

Kadabra showed a clear talent for learning moves in the Psychic type category. Within just a week, it mastered Psychic Terrain, Teleport, and Psyshock. However, it made no progress in learning Shadow Ball from Gengar or Energy Ball from Bellossom.

Despite being only level 21, Kadabra\'s true strength went beyond its surface abilities, thanks to the influence of Gon\'s psychic powers.

Additionally, with Yuga\'s diligent care, Gon\'s physical condition improved significantly. He gradually put on some weight and was no longer as skinny as before.

What surprised Yuga, however, was not just Gon\'s weight gain but also the significant increase in the size of Absol.

Yuga had noticed its increasing appetite a while ago, but in recent days, this trend had escalated, causing its size to grow rapidly.

Could that mysterious seed be a growth hormone? Yuga wondered.

However, he soon realized that Absol\'s substantial growth in size resulted in increased strength and destructiveness.
