I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 378: Agreement

Chapter 378: Agreement

Chimecho\'s recent performance had made Akihiro realize that Yuga was even more formidable than he had thought.

"Alright, now that both of you are ready, let\'s begin," Beidou said as he walked to the middle of the open space at the edge.

Both nodded in agreement and released their respective Pokémon.

On Akihiro\'s side, it was, of course, Shroomish, while on Yuga\'s side, it was his weakest Pokémon, Charmander.

"Sorry, I have a bit of a type advantage here," Yuga said apologetically to Akihiro.

He didn\'t have many options for battling Shroomish, and his Ecopark Pokémon were more suitable, but unfortunately, he hadn\'t brought them along.

Akihiro shook his head in response, indicating that he didn\'t mind.

While Charmander had a slight advantage in terms of type, its actual level was not higher than that of Shroomish. If there was any advantage, it lay in the difference in their potential.

Charmander had a somewhat timid nature, and upon seeing strangers, it immediately wanted to hide behind Yuga. However, Yuga scolded it, and it reluctantly stepped onto the battlefield.

"Charmander, today is your first battle with someone else. Try to do your best, okay?" Yuga encouraged it.

Upon hearing Yuga\'s words, Charmander, with tears in its eyes, stepped back onto the battlefield.

"Alright, now that both sides are ready, the battle begins," Beidou shouted, "One, two, three, begin!"

A rather unprofessional referee, Beidou wasn\'t sure how to properly announce the start of the match.

At Beidou\'s command, Yuga immediately instructed Charmander, "Charmander, rush forward and use Ember."

Yuga knew that Charmander\'s Ember attack couldn\'t hit the enemy from a distance yet, so he had to get it close.

However, Charmander, with its teary eyes, seemed to be slow in responding to Yuga\'s command.

On the other side, at Akihiro\'s command, Shroomish released several seeds towards Charmander, successfully hitting it. The moment the seeds touched the ground, they grew into vines, binding Charmander tightly.

Shroomish\'s Leech Seed not only restricted Charmander\'s movement but also started draining its energy.

"Charmander, use Ember to burn those vines," Yuga commanded.

This time, Charmander finally snapped out of its daze and spewed a stream of flames to burn the vines binding it.

However, as soon as it broke free from the vines, Shroomish charged and bumped Charmander away.

Charmander flew and landed on the ground, looking quite pitiful, gazing at Yuga with a face full of misery.

Yuga couldn\'t help but rub his forehead. OMG! Was he getting beaten by a primary school student? Charmander, you need to step it up!

He wondered what training Charmander had undergone during this time. Why was it still in this state? It had performed quite smoothly when battling familiar Pokémon in the Ecopark. Why was it acting like this now?

"Charmander, come on, you can do it!" Yuga encouraged Charmander.

With Yuga\'s encouragement, Charmander reluctantly stood up again, but the look of misery in its eyes couldn\'t be concealed.

It was fortunate that Shroomish didn\'t take advantage of the situation to attack; otherwise, Charmander might have been in trouble.

"Charmander, use Smokescreen!"

Charmander exhaled a thick cloud of black smoke, immediately engulfing Shroomish. Due to the smokescreen, Shroomish\'s line of sight was completely blackened, losing track of Charmander.

"Shroomish, charge out of the smokescreen!" Akihiro shouted loudly.

"Charmander, use Ember towards the smokescreen!" Yuga commanded.

Charmander, upon hearing this command, spewed out small fireballs into the black smoke.

The smokescreen produced by Charmander consisted of flammable particles, which immediately ignited upon contact with flames, resulting in explosions.

With a loud "bang," Shroomish was blasted out of the black smoke, and the smokescreen dissipated.

Fire-type Pokémon had a significant advantage over Grass-type Pokémon like Shroomish, especially with the added smokescreen effect. The knocked-back Shroomish was now incapacitated.

"Shroomish, are you okay?"

Seeing Shroomish injured, Akihiro rushed over and nervously embraced it.

"Don\'t worry, Shroomish is fine," Yuga assured, "Chimecho, it\'s your turn!"

Chimecho, on the sidelines, rolled its eyes.

Yes, yes, I\'m just a tool Pokémon. I\'ll do whatever you need me to do!

After two Heal Pulse from Chimecho, both Shroomish and Charmander were back in fighting shape.

However, Charmander continued to cling to Yuga\'s leg, looking quite pitiful. Was it really Charmander or a Little Water Dragon in disguise?

(Note : Charmander chinese naame is Little Fire Dragon, so Yuga call it Little Water Dragon because it always crying)

Holding Shroomish, Akihiro sighed with a low spirit, "I lost."

"Shroomish!" Shroomish looked at Akihiro with deep remorse for losing the battle.

"Do you really want to become a Pokémon Trainer?" Yuga asked Akihiro.

Akihiro had actually performed quite well in the battle—quick reactions and good commands. The only thing he missed was the opportunity to attack Charmander while Yuga and Charmander were momentarily distracted. Otherwise, it might have been Yuga and Charmander on the losing side. This was a sign of inexperience.

Akihiro\'s eyes lit up at Yuga\'s words, and he eagerly asked, "Do you mean you\'re willing to take me in?"

"As long as you won\'t regret your decision today," Yuga replied.

With that, Yuga recalled Charmander and Chimecho and headed back towards the wooden house.

"I won\'t regret it, thank you, Mr. Shimizu!" Akihiro said enthusiastically, catching up with Yuga.

Back at the house, Akihiro discussed his decision with Anya and the others, receiving their full support.

"You should have them pack their things and move to the new dormitory; staying here is simply torturous," Yuga said, shivering from the cold draft coming through the window.

Now that he had agreed to take them in, there was no reason to let them stay in this desolate and unsafe place.

"Thank you, Yuga," Beidou said softly.

"Don\'t mention it; I\'m not doing this just to save face. They\'re currently selling themselves, and I plan to get it all back from them in the future!" Yuga replied.

Hearing Yuga\'s words, Beidou simply smiled and said nothing.

"But did you deliberately choose this freezing weather for a reason?" Yuga suddenly remembered something and asked Beidou.

Upon hearing Yuga\'s question, Beidou\'s face turned red.

"You figured it out!"

Choosing such freezing weather was meant to make Yuga see how much they were suffering, hoping it would increase the likelihood of Yuga taking them in. Unfortunately, Yuga had seen through the tactic and remained unswayed.
