I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 187: Origins

Chapter 187: Origins

"Exactly, Mom. If you don\'t give a reason, I won\'t go back with you," both Yuga and Sena urged Aunt Aoba.

Yuga believed that since Sena had signed a contract of employment with him, he wouldn\'t release Sena without knowing the reasons.

Aunt Aoba\'s expression became conflicted upon hearing Yuga\'s words. She seemed torn, but Yuga saw a glimmer of hope and continued, "Sena is under an employment contract with me. If you don\'t state your reasons, I won\'t let him go."

Upon hearing this, Aunt Aoba struggled even more with her decision.

"Aunt Aoba, no matter what the reason is, it concerns Sena\'s future. He has the right to know. He\'s an adult now; he can make decisions for himself."

Yuga\'s words broke down Aunt Aoba\'s last line of defense.

Finally, Aunt Aoba seemed to make up her mind. Her tense body relaxed all at once, and she began to speak, "All of this is related to Sena\'s father."

"My father? What does he have to do with this? If it weren\'t for your strong opposition, he would\'ve supported me becoming a Trainer," Sena questioned his mother\'s words with great confusion.

"I\'m talking about your biological father," Aunt Aoba paused when she said this.

"My biological father? Mom, what are you saying?" Sena thought his ears might be playing tricks on him.

"Yes, your biological father."

This time, Sena was certain he hadn\'t misheard.

And so, as Aunt Aoba narrated the story, Yuga and Sena finally learned the truth.

Sena was not Aunt Aoba and her husband\'s child; he was the son of their elder brother and his wife.

Sena\'s father was named Isamu Sena, the elder brother of Aunt Aoba\'s husband.

Like Sena, Isamu Sena had dreamt of becoming a Trainer from a young age. Supported by his parents and family, he attended the Trainer School and eventually became a Trainer after graduation.

However, dreams might be grand, but reality could be harsh. Isamu Sena wasn\'t suited for the life of a Trainer. He drifted through the years as a Trainer, remaining at the lowest rank.

Being a Trainer was lucrative if done well. Both the League and private parties assigned many tasks to Trainers, and if skilled, there was money to be made.

But if things didn\'t go well, the high costs associated with raising Pokémon would drag you down. Unfortunately, Isamu Sena became such an example.

Isamu\'s insistence on being a Trainer, without giving up, led not only to his own downfall but also that of his parents and his younger brother.

His parents passed away not long after, and in the face of his brother\'s reproach, Isamu Sena finally saw the reality. He abandoned his dreams of being a Trainer, found a stable job, and married Sena\'s mother.

During this time, Isamu Sena lived a peaceful life. Not long after, his wife became pregnant.

And then Sena was born. His name was chosen personally by Isamu Sena.

Isamu\'s younger brother, seeing that Isamu was finally willing to settle down and lead a stable life, also began to let go of his past resentment. He and his wife, now Aunt Aoba, frequently took care of their nephew.

Aunt Aoba and her husband had been married even longer than Isamu Sena, but they hadn\'t been able to have children of their own. So, they cherished their nephew deeply.

If life had continued to be peaceful, perhaps none of the later events would have transpired. But reality often differs from our wishes.

Living a regular nine-to-five life at home, performing the same tasks day in and day out, Isamu Sena\'s restless heart grew more and more uneasy.

As it turns out, beneath the seemingly peaceful exterior, he couldn\'t let go of his identity as a Trainer.

Finally, one incident acted as the spark for all the subsequent tragedies.

At the time, a significant event occurred in the League: the bankruptcy of the Greater Mauville Holdings.

Initially, the Greater Mauville Holdings was an energy development company located in Mauville City. They were involved in various projects, such as the underwater energy collection platform "Sea Mauville," the large-scale underground city and power plant "New Mauville," and the urban redevelopment project in Mauville City.

The reason a large corporation like this went bankrupt was due to a new energy application method developed by their long-standing rival, the Devon Corporation. This blow was devastating for an energy development company.

Additionally, the New Mauville project was halted because the project leader, Wattson, who was now the Gym Leader of Mauville City, was concerned about the potential impact of such a massive project on the habitat of nearby Pokémon.

The encroachment on habitats, the suspension of a costly project, and the series of unfortunate events led to Greater Mauville Holdings\'s bankruptcy not long after.

But how could the bankruptcy of Greater Mauville Holdings be related to someone as insignificant as Isamu Sena?

All of this was connected to the underwater energy development platform of Mauville, "Sea Mauville."

After Greater Mauville Holdings went bankrupt, Sea Mauville was abandoned, yet due to its unique ecological environment, it was preserved as a natural conservation area.

Inside Sea Mauville, there were many leftover historical documents from Greater Mauville Holdings. This led to rumors among many Trainers that the corporation had left a treasure behind, sparking a frenzy to seek treasures in Sea Mauville.

Regardless of whether there was treasure or not, as a former Pokébase of a major corporation, there were valuable items inside. Some Trainers indeed benefited, and the rumors of hidden treasure intensified.

Once Isamu Sena, who was already itching for adventure, received this news, he couldn\'t bear to stay at home any longer. He informed his younger brother and his wife that he intended to search for treasures in Sea Mauville.

His decision caused a stir at home. Both his wife and his brother strongly opposed his choice. But since he had already made up his mind, no one could change it.

He promised his brother and his wife that he would succeed, that he would make their lives better. Where he got this confidence from was anyone\'s guess.

Before leaving, his brother said, "If you step out that door, don\'t bother coming back. I\'ll consider you no longer my brother."

His brother\'s words had no effect; Isamu Sena was determined.

Perhaps his brother\'s words played a part, but Isamu Sena never returned after that departure.

Not long after he left, his wife fell seriously ill and passed away without ever seeing her husband again.

And Isamu Sena\'s own son, Sena, was raised as their own child by his uncle and aunt, with his true parentage concealed from him.
