I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 175: Three Breeders

Chapter 175: Three Breeders

Yuga attempted to discuss the matter with Greninja, but it paid no heed. Eventually, Yuga noticed that Greninja and Clawitzer weren\'t causing any actual harm to Tsareena, so he chose not to intervene further.

Yuga thought, "Perhaps this is a form of training through indirect battles. It might actually be a good thing."

Today was the day when the breeders Yuga had invited for an interview were coming. He had instructed Suzuki Koen to be attentive, but Yuga didn\'t expect that all three candidates would arrive simultaneously.

Looking at the two men and one woman before him, Yuga sighed with resignation. "Since you\'ve all arrived together, let\'s have a joint interview."

Guiding them inside the shop, Yuga proceeded to address them. "As you can see, my Day Care Center isn\'t large, so I don\'t require many staff members. Among the three of you here today, only one will be chosen to stay. Who that will be depends on your performance."

All three candidates nodded in agreement.

"In that case, let\'s begin the interview. We don\'t have too many formalities; it\'s a straightforward process. Please start by introducing yourselves."

The candidates exchanged glances before the older-looking man spoke up first.

"I\'m Sugisaki, 32 years old, from Petalburg City. I used to work at Midnight Day Care in Johto, specializing in breeding Dark-type Pokémon."

Sugisaki seemed particularly proud of his experience at Midnight Day Care and emphasized it while speaking.

Next to him, the other man appeared momentarily surprised that Sugisaki had finished introducing himself so swiftly. Then he began his own introduction.

"I\'m Lin Mi, 25 years old, from Sootopolis City. I graduated from Sootopolis Trainer School and later interned at a Day Care Center in Sootopolis City. I\'ve worked at a few private Day Cares and recently passed the intermediate breeder assessment. My expertise lies in the genetics and heredity of Pokémon."

Compared to the previous candidate, Lin Mi provided much more information in his introduction. His tone was humble and modest, unlike Sugisaki\'s proud demeanor. Lin Mi wore black-framed glasses and exuded an air of a scholar or researcher more than a breeder.

Having interned at an official Day Care Center, Lin Mi seemed to have good skills. With intermediate breeder certification and such a background, he was more than qualified for work at Yuga\'s facility.

Yuga nodded approvingly after hearing Lin Mi\'s introduction. Meanwhile, Sugisaki pursed his lips, seeming to hold some disdain for Lin Mi.

Lastly, the youngest-looking candidate, a girl with a sweet appearance, introduced herself. However, her voice was unexpectedly deep, not at all matching her appearance. It was even coarser than Lin Mi\'s voice, and coupled with her straightforward manner, Yuga thought she resembled a tomboy.

"I\'m Misaki, 20 years old, from Lavaridge Town. I recently earned the qualification as a Junior Breeder and haven\'t been in this role for long. I used to be a trainer, but my skills were lacking. I participated in several Pokémon League but never made it past the top 32. Later, my teachers at the Trainer School suggested I become a breeder. I do like this profession, but I\'ve had no luck with applications at other Day Care. So, I don\'t have any work experience yet. I\'m particularly skilled at making Pokéblocks."

When Yuga heard that Misaki excelled at making Pokéblocks, his eyes lit up.

However, among the three, Misaki had the weakest background, being the youngest and having the least experience. Starting late might have led to an insufficient knowledge base, and without any prior job experience, she was a rookie in the workforce. The only aspect that appealed to Yuga was her skill in making Pokéblocks.

Nevertheless, crafting Pokéblocks was a basic skill for breeders, required regardless of their specialization. Breeder rank assessments also tested this skill.

The girl named Misaki didn\'t feel inferior due to her lesser experience compared to the others. On the contrary, after listening to their introductions, she continued to exude enthusiasm and confidence as she introduced herself.

Her appearance combined with her voice was a bit amusing, making people smile.

However, Sugisaki beside her seemed to hold a strong disdain for Misaki. After her introduction, he scoffed audibly, which everyone present heard, displaying a lack of manners.

Seeing his behavior, Yuga already had the idea of removing him from the list of candidates.

When hiring employees, regardless of their skill level, their character had to pass the test first.

After listening to the self-introductions, Yuga first looked at Sugisaki, who finished his introduction first, and asked, "Mr. Sugisaki, may I ask why you left Midnight Day Care, where you seemed to be doing well, why you choose to come back to Hoenn?"

Hearing Yuga\'s question, Sugisaki raised an eyebrow and retorted, "What do you mean? What does this question have to do with the interview? Or are you suspecting I didn\'t leave on my own accord but was actually fired?"

Yuga\'s expression darkened at Sugisaki\'s words. Could he not overinterpret others\' statements? Couldn\'t he simply seek to understand the situation? At that moment, Yuga decisively removed Sugisaki from the list of candidates.

"I didn\'t mean it that way. I was just asking about the situation. If you don\'t want to answer, I won\'t press."

After speaking, Yuga didn\'t bother with Sugisaki and shifted his gaze to Lin Mi.

"Mr. Lin Mi, your credentials are quite impressive. I believe that with your qualifications, you could be accepted by any Day Care without hesitation. So, I want to ask, why did you choose our YoYo Day Care?"

Lin Mi\'s answer could be described as refreshingly genuine and unaffected.

"Because you have Tapinch and Flygon. I\'d like to study them, and other Day Cares don\'t have them."

Hearing this reason, Yuga felt like he was about to kneel. So, this was a research-oriented breeder. No wonder his specialization was in genetics and heredity.
