Chapter 200 - 200: 200: Story in the Darkness (3rd update)

Su Mingyue’s Star-gazing Mirror was a high-grade celestial device, far more valuable than any treasure Lin Zhen had ever seen. This kind of auxiliary tool with special abilities, was even more valuable than typical top-tier celestial tools, not even top-tier armor could match the value of the Star-gazing Mirror, let alone weapons.

It was precisely because of its quality and the intense star power it contained, that it was able to block the deadly star strike.

But the Star-gazing Mirror was not a true defensive celestial device, which was why it was damaged by the star strike.

Lin Zhen didn’t answer Su Mingyue’s question, but gently caressed her cheek, all the way down to her earlobe.

Her ears were translucent, giving an almost transparent feeling.

Flicking her black hair behind her ears, Su Mingyue’s face was blushing, yet she let Lin Zhen hold her.

“Yue’er, why did you interfere with the star strike?” Lin Zhen asked.

“I didn’t want you to get hurt by that thing.” Su Mingyue answered simply, but it stabbed at one’s heart.

“It’s a good thing you had the Star-gazing Mirror; otherwise, you might have done a really foolish thing. Did you know that the Star-gazing Mirror could resist a star strike?” Lin Zhen asked again.

Su Mingyue shook her head slightly: “I didn’t know. If I had, I would have taken off the Star-gazing Mirror and left it here, because I knew you’d come for me.”

On hearing this, Lin Zhen’s heart ached. He couldn’t help but harshly say:

“What nonsense are you talking about? No matter how good the Star-gazing Mirror is, it’s just an inanimate object. How could it compare to a human life? I won’t allow you to care so little for yourself in the future.”

Hearing this, Su Mingyue’s long eyelashes drooped a bit, covering her beautiful peach blossom eyes, like the mood of the moment.

“I don’t know what else I can do. Should I return to the church? Even God will not listen to his followers. I don’t even know if I should continue being the saintess. I wish I could do something…”

“So what if there’s no real God? You’re still a person. You still have a family.”

But Su Mingyue shook her head slightly: “I don’t have a family. I lost my parents when I was very young. I was raised in the church, and until I turned eighteen, I knew less than ten people by name. Only my master, senior sister, and a few clergy members of the church. When I came to the training camp and spoke to Tang Yu, seeing his name reminded me of him.” Lin Zhen opened his mouth, but no words came out.

What kind of life was Su Mingyue leading?

She had been raised as a saintess since childhood, studying every day under the guidance of her master and the clergy about what a saintess should do, and also practicing martial arts. Besides these people in the church, she couldn’t even name anybody else.

Eighteen years old, so she only got to know so many people after joining the God Generals Training Camp, including people from the Capital Base City.

Lin Zhen managed a smile, put his arm around Su Mingyue’s shoulder: “No wonder you’re smart, yet sometimes you’re so simple that you come off as a little fool. From now on, things will change, because you have me. No matter what you do, you must always put your safety first.”

“Hmm.” Su Mingyue nodded slightly, softly resting her head on Lin Zhen’s shoulder, but her big eyes blinked, as if she was pondering something.

Seeing Su Mingyue finally stop crying, Lin Zhen’s heart gradually settled.

Gently wiping the tear stains on Su Mingyue’s clean, pretty face with his fingers, her skin was incredibly good, soft as creamy-jelly. With Lin Zhen’s sharp eyes, at this close distance, he couldn’t even see her pores.

Feeling a bit uncomfortable under his touch, Su Mingyue raised her hand to lightly catch Lin Zhen’s finger, she looked up at him: “Lin Zhen, do you really think I’m dumb?”

Lin Zhen smiled, pinched her straight little nose: “Very dumb.”

It seemed Su Mingyue felt somewhat unconvinced, blinking at Lin Zhen: “Back when we started going out and you pretended to be my boyfriend, you even held me. Do you know why I did that?”

Lin Zhen thought for a moment: “To temporarily avoid being entangled by others.”

There appeared to be a hint of displeasure in Su Mingyue’s big eyes: “Not at all, it was because I genuinely liked you.”

“Ah!” Her simple and frank words, with no adornment or cover-up, took aim directly at Lin Zhen’s heart.

“Let me ask you again, why didn’t I let Yue Feng touch my hand when I was interacting with the star strike?” Su Mingyue continued to question Lin Zhen. Lin Zhen thought for a moment this time: “You detest him.”

Unexpectedly, Su Mingyue shook her head again: “It’s not just dislike, apart from sometimes holding hands with my senior sister, I don’t like being touched by anyone.”

“Then me…,” Lin Zhen started to say.

“Only for you, all for you.” Su Mingyue seemed very assured as she said this.

Lin Zhen knew Su Mingyue’s character well. She hardly ever joked, and especially at this moment, there was not even a trace of doubt, this represented her heartfelt feelings.

“Yue’er…” Lin Zhen’s voice was hoarse.

But suddenly, Su Mingyue started laughing. The impact of her radiant smile was like a field of flowers in bloom, her eyebrows lightly curved, her beautiful peach blossom eyes squinting, and dimples appeared on her pristine, beautiful face: “See? You can’t answer any of my questions correctly, so I’m not the fool, you are.”

Lin Zhen then realized that Su Mingyue didn’t like being called a fool at all.

But no matter how hard she tried to prove it, she was still a little fool. Didn’t she understand it was just a nickname?

Watching Su Mingyue giggling at him being the fool, Lin Zhen felt she seemed like a little fox that had stolen a chicken.

In such a state, she was so beautiful it could move the heart of a saint.

Lin Zhen’s breathing became somewhat heavy. He gently lifted Su Mingyue’s small chin, “Yue’er, how can you be so beautiful?”

Su Mingyue blinked, “I don’t know, many people have said so, but I like hearing it from you.”

Lin Zhen slowly leaned in, their breaths mingling on each other’s faces.

“Yue’er, I want to devour you.”

Su Mingyue cried out in surprise, looking down at her slender arm, there was a hint of fear in her gaze at Lin Zhen. She hesitated for a long time, “You must be hungry, when the rain stops, I’ll make you something to eat, 1…1…”

Lin Zhen rolled his eyes. Unnecessary innocence wasn’t necessarily a good thing. No one had ever said such things to her, nor had she ever touched upon such topics, she truly didn’t understand what ‘devour you’ meant.

Lin Zhen did not want to overstep and taint his girlfriend who was pure as white paper, so he could only reduce his demands, “Yue’er, I want to hold you while we sleep, let’s find a place.”

Su Mingyue blushed instantly. Although she didn’t understand many things she was an incredibly intelligent woman, otherwise, how could she deceive Yue Feng? The look in Lin Zhen’s eyes made her feel a hint of danger, but she couldn’t bring herself to reject him outright, “But…the rain’s coming down hard, and there isn’t a place we can…”

“We can go to my den, I used to sleep there.”

“It’s all filled with water.” Su Mingyue finally found a reason to refuse.

Lin Zhen picked her up in a princess hold and came to the entrance of the den. With a movement of his gravity control, the water was immediately sucked out and thrown into the river before he carried Su Mingyue into the den. Su Mingyue paused, clutching Lin Zhen’s chest, “But it’s still raining outside.” Whoosh!

Liquid metal formed a thin layer, almost transparent, and covered the den like a small house.

Su Mingyue looked up, somewhat anxious and trying to find an excuse, “But it’s too dark, I’m afraid of the dark.”

Lin Zhen opened his eyes, the Radiant Power flickering, and the den lit up.

“Your eyes are scary.”

The light was immediately moved above his head.

“This is also scary.”

Under the control of Spiritual Power, the Radiant Power floated to the roof of the hut, like a soft little lamp.

Finally, Su Mingyue was out of words. Her big eyes blinked and then she suddenly threw herself into Lin Zhen’s arms, her arms around his neck, her body shivering slightly. Putting on a coquettish voice she had never used before, she said to Lin Zhen, “Lin Zhen, won’t you stop teasing your Yue’er? Sooner or later, your Yue’er will be yours, but not today, the Saintess must be pure, I haven’t thought it through, I beg you…”

In the stormy night, in the warm little den, under the soft light, holding the ravishing beauty who was twisting in his arms, even after being reborn, Lin Zhen almost lost control of himself. With a heavy heart, he held Su Mingyue, preventing her from moving, and said somewhat frustrated, “So, not even a hug or a kiss?”

Su Mingyue hesitated. She had never dealt with situations like this before, so she instinctively felt afraid. She didn’t answer Lin Zhen’s question right away and then softly said, “My clothes are too wet from the rain, they’re uncomfortable to wear, I need to change.”

“Then I’ll go outside.”

“The rain is pouring outside. You shouldn’t go.” Su Mingyue couldn’t bear to let Lin Zhen get soaked in the rain.

Lin Zhen’s eyes lit up and he sat down, not moving.

Su Mingyue looked at Lin Zhen, “I feel like you would spy on me.” “I promise I won’t look.”

“I don’t believe you.” Su Mingyue said, frank in her disbelief of Lin Zhen.

“Then what should we do? Should I go outside?”

“You turn off the light.”

Lin Zhen instantly withdrew his Radiant Power, and the room went dark.

“That won’t work either. There’s lightning outside. When the flash comes, you’d still be able to see. Cover the room up with leaves.”

With a wave of Lin Zhen’s hand, the gravity acted, and several large petal leaves flew over and covered the den.

At this moment, Su Mingyue raised her hand, and she also emitted Radiant Power. Radiance under the Star Crystal is twin-born; not only Lin Zhen can illuminate it, but she can too.

Her beauty under the radiance was breathtaking. Su Mingyue’s face reddened as she said to Lin Zhen, “Lin Zhen, if you don’t peek, I’ll give you a reward, but if you create even a bit of light to peek at me changing, I swear I’ll ignore you for a long time.”

Lin Zhen immediately nodded, “Absolutely no light.”

The radiance dimmed, and for a long time, there was no movement. After a while, Su Mingyue suddenly waved her hand in front of Lin Zhen’s eyes, then quietly lit up a little radiance. Seeing that the focus in Lin Zhen’s eyes didnt seem to change and he was still in a state of darkness, she then extinguished the light, believing that no one could see anything in the dark.

She still believed Lin Zhen wouldn’t illuminate the room again. Feeling relieved, she began to slowly undress from her soaked priest robe..
