Becoming a God at Level 100, Starting from Hunter x Hunter

Chapter 1 - Crossing Over x Hunter Test Site

Luo Lin opened his eyes and looked around in confusion.

This… seems to be a private room in a restaurant. He was sitting on a chair at the dining table.

But, how did he end up in such a place?

He remembered staying up late watching anime until after 3 AM last night. He was so exhausted that he passed out, and now…

Wait a minute!

Why does this line sound so familiar?

Luo Lin fell into thought.

“Damn! Could it be that I’ve crossed over?” Luo Lin was shocked.

In six or seven out of ten crossover novels, the protagonist’s first words after waking up are always these. Of course, he knew them well!

“If I’ve really crossed over, then where am I…” Luo Lin’s heart tightened, and he quickly looked around, trying to find some useful information.

Suddenly, a small screen on the wall directly in front of him caught his attention.

“59, 60, 61…”

Luo Lin watched the constantly increasing numbers and felt the faint sensation of weightlessness.

“I’m not in a restaurant’s private room, I’m in an elevator going down?” Luo Lin looked bewildered.

It wasn’t so much that he was confused about crossing over into an elevator. Whether it was a private room or an elevator, neither really mattered to him. The issue was…

This restaurant-like elevator, this scene… he knew it well!

It was the exact scenario from the start of Hunter x Hunter, which he had just binge-watched last night.

So…

“Did I cross over into the world of Hunter x Hunter? And is this the elevator to the Hunter exam site?” Luo Lin’s mind was buzzing.

He glanced at his familiar-looking hands, still wearing his pajamas.

Although there were no mirrors or other forms of evidence, Luo Lin felt that his body had indeed been replaced.

But the question remained…

How did he end up participating in the Hunter exam with his current physical condition?

What a joke! He was in no shape to take the test!

However, Luo Lin wasn’t too worried about his safety.

After all, the first phase of the Hunter exam was a long-distance run of at least 80 kilometers, with almost no fighting involved.

Given his physical state…

This was essentially the concept of: “As long as I’m useless enough, no one can kill me!”

The real issue now was:

He had crossed over. He had actually crossed over, and possibly into a world like Hunter x Hunter, an anime universe!

Superpowers—no, nen abilities, real supernatural forces were now within his reach!

“Right! I wonder if I have any perks as a transmigrator!” Luo Lin suddenly remembered. Transmigrators usually come with some sort of cheat system.

“System panel…” Luo Lin muttered softly to himself.

The next instant, a semi-transparent screen popped up in his view.

“Damn, I really have one!” Luo Lin’s face lit up with excitement. He didn’t expect to get the password right on his first try.

He was a transmigrator with cheats now!

You have to understand—there’s a world of difference between a transmigrator with cheats and one without.

[Level 100 God System].

[Name: Luo Lin].

[Level: 0 (0/1)].

[Attributes: Not unlocked].

[World: Hunter x Hunter].

“Level 100 God System…” Luo Lin smiled, satisfied with the majestic name of his system. “Level 100 God, looks like this is a monster-fighting, leveling-up type of system!”

Luo Lin felt a twinge of happiness. Monster-fighting and leveling, though not the most comfortable system configuration, was still top-tier.

“Attributes not unlocked… Does that mean I need to level up to 1 before I can unlock the system?” Luo Lin pondered while looking at his system panel.

Leveling up seemed easy enough. Judging from the experience bar next to his level, it looked like he only needed one point of experience to level up.

As Luo Lin was studying his system panel, a sudden ‘ding’ sound accompanied by a faint vibration indicated that the elevator had come to a stop.

“We’ve arrived,” Luo Lin blinked, looking at the slowly opening elevator doors. He hesitated for a moment but then prepared to step out.

To be honest, now that his system had awakened, Luo Lin was actually thinking about quitting the Hunter exam and leveling up quickly to unlock his cheat powers.

But since he had already reached the exam site, it would feel like a waste not to experience the Hunter exam firsthand.

Even if he only made a cameo appearance in the first phase, it would still be worth it, right?

“Speaking of which, this crossover is pretty considerate. At least it didn’t drop me here barefoot; it even brought along my slippers from beside the bed!”

Wearing his pajamas and a pair of flip-flops, Luo Lin stepped out of the elevator, grumbling to himself.

Honestly, if he hadn’t discovered his system, he would’ve quit the moment he stepped outside in this outfit. But now, he could at least play along for the experience.

However, just as one foot stepped out of the elevator—

“AHHHHHH!”

A heart-wrenching scream suddenly echoed through the air.

Luo Lin instinctively shuddered.

“What the hell?”

In the distance, he saw a man kneeling on the ground, screaming in pain while holding up the stumps of his arms.

“Is that… Hisoka?”

Luo Lin paused for a moment before recalling the scene.

Wasn’t this the part where Hisoka made his debut?

“I arrived at the exam site after Gon and the others!” Luo Lin immediately realized his entry time.

However.

Thanks to Hisoka’s performance, it seemed like no one noticed his arrival.

Luo Lin didn’t care much either. He walked out of the elevator, stood by the wall, and watched the spectacle while casually examining the tunnel walls and ceiling.

As a fan of Hunter x Hunter, Luo Lin had looked into this scene and discussed it with others before.

The general conclusion was that in the manga, Hisoka used Bungee Gum to attach the guy’s arms and then instantly cut them off, hiding the detached arms with Bungee Gum on the ceiling.

In the anime, Hisoka added a few flowers with his Texture Surprise ability for flair.

Although he didn’t see the severed arms, this theory was probably correct.

“Tsk tsk, Hisoka really doesn’t care if people figure out his abilities,” Luo Lin thought to himself.

Although most of the exam candidates didn’t understand nen, any experienced nen user would be able to tell Hisoka’s ability with just a little thought.

But Hisoka never cared if people figured out his abilities anyway.
