Super Gene Ⅱ: Evolution

Chapter 134: 134 I’m Waiting for You

Not long after, Xu Tiange came running over, his face all smiles upon seeing Lin Shen.

But when he saw Tu Xiaodao sitting next to him, Xu Tiange was slightly taken aback.

“Tu Xiaodao is now in charge of ensuring my safety. There’s no problem with bringing him along to the Realm King Planet, is there?” Lin Shen asked.

“Of course there’s no problem. With a master like Brother Tu accompanying us, I couldn’t be happier. Why would there be an issue?” Xu Tiange said with a grin. “Shen, just wait two more days. The Realm King Cultivation Device should be about to activate soon.”

Lin Shen discussed some details with Xu Tiange, and in the end, Xu Tiange invited them to stay at the Xu Family’s home until they all left for Jinshui Lake together.

After some thought, Lin Shen agreed and followed Xu Tiange to the Xu Family’s home.

Seeing Tu Xiaodao constantly by Lin Shen’s side like a true bodyguard sparked great curiosity within Xu Tiange: “Tu Xiaodao’s strength ranks among the top in the Mutators, barely inferior to Ouyang Yudu. He even caused trouble for Lin Shen before, yet in just a few days, things have turned out like this. I really can’t understand it anymore.”

At the Xu Family’s home, Lin Shen adhered to three daily routines: running, practicing with a gun, and sleeping.

Running was to practice “Stepping on the Immortal Court,” practicing with the gun was focused only on thrusting, and sleeping was to practice “The Greed for Life and Fear of Death Elixir.”

Every day during sleep, Lin Shen tried to hold his breath as long as possible while circulating the Immortality Scripture, and although he had not succeeded yet, the duration of his breath-holding was gradually increasing.

From initially only being able to hold his breath for about half an hour, he was now close to an hour, yet it was still a significant gap from the minimum requirement for practicing the Immortality Scripture.

Finally, the day arrived for the Realm King Cultivation Device to activate again. After several rounds of research, experts had found that Mutators who stand closer to each other are more likely to be transported to the same area.

Though difficult to arrive at the exact same location, standing together meant that after teleportation, they wouldn’t be too far apart from each other.

Under Xu Tiange’s lead, the group of Mutators from the Xu Family, along with Lin Shen and Tu Xiaodao, arrived at the area of the Sword Alliance’s base next to Jinshui Lake.

The Xu Family had numerous connections with the Sword Alliance’s base, and they were also the first to be informed about the Realm King Cultivation Device.

The Xu Family’s trip to the Realm King Planet also required coordination with the Sword Alliance to ensure higher safety.

Upon arriving at the Sword Alliance base, someone recognized Lin Shen.

A girl who looked to be about seventeen or eighteen ran up to Lin Shen, her eyes filled with curiosity and excitement as she asked, “Are you the playboy Lin Shen?”

“I am Lin Shen, but I am not a playboy,” Lin Shen said.

Realizing her mistake, the girl apologized, “I’m sorry, Lin Shen. My name is Zuo Qingmeng, and I really admire you. Could you give me an autograph?”

“An autograph?” Lin Shen was slightly startled. He had not expected anyone to admire him and asked in confusion, “What exactly do you admire about me?”

“Of course it’s for mastering ‘Talent Theory’! I heard that only those with exceptionally good talent can master ‘Talent Theory.’ You must be one in a million, a real genius! In nearly twenty years, only Bai Shenfei and Ouyang Yu have mastered ‘Talent Theory,’ and you’re the third,” Zuo Qingmeng said earnestly.

“You’re mistaken, I haven’t mastered ‘Talent Theory,’” Lin Shen patiently explained.

“How is that possible?” Zuo Qingmeng’s eyes widened in disbelief, “If you haven’t mastered ‘Talent Theory,’ how could Bai Shenfei list you as one of her candidates?”

“Maybe it’s a misunderstanding, maybe there’s another Lin Shen who has mastered ‘Talent Theory,’ but I certainly have not,” Lin Shen deliberately raised his voice so that the people nearby could hear him, unwilling to take the blame for this.

“Is that so?” Zuo Qingmeng looked full of doubt.

“Yes, that’s exactly it. If you’re looking for someone who has mastered ‘Talent Theory’ to sign something, I suggest seeking out Bai Shenfei and Ouyang Yudu,” Lin Shen said earnestly.

“Okay then,” Zuo Qingmeng said, looking disappointed.

Seeing that the people from the Sword Alliance were showing signs of sudden realization, as if they’d resolved some inner conflict, Lin Shen felt much better.

Although their looks were still somewhat uncomfortable, as if saying: I knew it couldn’t be, how could someone from an obscure place, whom nobody has ever heard of, have mastered ‘Talent Theory.’ I knew that was the case.

But compared with taking the fall, Lin Shen felt those looks were still acceptable.

“This is a good start, when I get the chance I’ll stroll around other bases, letting everyone know that the Lin Shen mentioned by Bai Shenfei isn’t me. That should solve the problem,” Lin Shen thought to himself.

However, the best-laid plans often go awry, and just as Lin Shen had begun to shift the blame off himself, he saw people from other bases coming to the Sword Alliance and causing quite a commotion.

“Ah! The living Ouyang Yudu!” Zuo Qingmeng’s eyes almost turned into heart shapes.

Other members of the Sword Alliance also glanced over, and several of the younger leaders went to greet Ouyang Yudu.

“Ouyang Yudu is here? Is he coming for me?” Lin Shen felt depressed; he just wanted to level up by battling monsters, not waste time and energy on these people.

Ouyang Yudu merely exchanged a few polite words with the members of the Sword Alliance, then purposefully walked towards Lin Shen.

“Ouyang Yudu came for Lin Shen. So, the Lin Shen Bai Shenfei talked about is indeed this Lin Shen. He almost had me fooled just now!” Zuo Qingmeng felt hurt.

Others also looked on with faces eager for gossip, as if they were just short of grabbing chairs and some sunflower seeds.

“Hello, I am Ouyang Yudu,” Ouyang Yudu greeted Lin Shen with a friendly outstretched hand.

“Lin Shen.” Lin Shen also extended his hand and shook hands with Ouyang Yudu.

Lin Shen had expected that Ouyang Yudu, like the villains in stories, would squeeze his hand hard to challenge him or teach him a lesson.

But Ouyang Yudu just gave a light squeeze and let go, smiling at him while saying, “I’ve heard you’ve mastered ‘Talent Theory,’ too. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to discuss ‘Talent Theory’ with you.”

He continued, handing a small notebook to Lin Shen: “This contains my insights from practicing ‘Talent Theory,’ detailed records from steel to Crystal Base. Take a look; if it’s useful, keep it. If not, you can return it to me later. If you need any help with your cultivation in the future, you can also come directly to the God’s Love Base camp to find me. I won’t shirk if I can help you. I hope you can advance to Crystal Base soon.”

Lin Shen wanted to say that he didn’t need it; he hadn’t mastered ‘Talent Theory’ at all.

But Ouyang Yudu had already turned away and didn’t give Lin Shen a chance to speak.

As he reached the gateway of the Sword Alliance camp, Ouyang Yudu seemed to remember something, turned his head, and called out to Lin Shen from a distance, “Lin Shen, I’ll be waiting for you.”
