Chapter 140 - 140 Life is Like a Play (Additional update for 800 subscriptions)

Up to this point, the image light technology had matured greatly, enabling viewers to access the screen they wanted to see with ease, making them feel as if they were truly present there.

Just like now, members of the audience could directly view the main screen where Li Yao was. They could also choose from different angles.

For instance, they could adopt a first person’s perspective of a certain character, Li Yao’s perspective, or even use a god’s perspective, observing from various angles such as overhead or head-on.

At this moment, they could clearly see the joy in the thief’s eyes and his body slightly trembling from excitement. However, that was the extent of it.

Pat, pat, pat…

The moment the thief ambushed Li Yao and revealed his identity, the three Arrow Towers beside Li Yao had already fired their arrows. The thief had thought Li Yao had made a mistake, and so he saw the hope of killing Li Yao.

Just as the thief’s dagger touched Li Yao’s leather armor and seemed about to succeed in his backstabbing attempt, three arrows had already pierced the thief’s body.

Caught in disbelief, all players watched as the thief’s body abruptly fell and his soul turned into a white light and vanished.

The situation had changed too suddenly. The audience, still gasping in surprise at Li Yao’s perilous situation, hadn’t even ceased their shouting, but the plot had undergone a dramatic twist.

The one who died wasn’t Li Yao, but the thief who wanted to kill him.

From the thief’s successful surprise attack on Li Yao using Shadow Step, to his death—all of it happened in the blink of an eye, going against everyone’s expectations.

Even KB hadn’t finished speaking, frozen with shock.

Once again, screams resounded from the audience and many other spectators watching the live broadcast at home. These screams, though, were just as piercing but expressed an entirely different feeling.

The dramatic change had left them feeling breathless, their emotions reaching a peak.

“Kill him.” The lone wolf that Gu Cheng had become, charged at Li Yao once more, fire now in his eyes.

Just as Li Yao had speculated, their previous maneuver to distract him was to split his focus and allow the thief to succeed in his ambush.

However, they hadn’t expected that in this brief contest, it was still Li Yao who had the upper hand, killing the thief underhandedly.

“Isn’t it fun to gang up on one guy? Let me join in too.”

Roar…

Following a roar, the figure of a saber-toothed tiger appeared from behind the last mage on Gu Cheng’s side. Similar to the previous ambush, the mage was stunned. His ID read: I want to be silent.

Then came a series of attacks—Rupture, Claw Strike, Claw Strike, Ferocious Bite. Without even knowing what elite profession attacked him, the fragile mage was defeated and transformed into white light before he could counter-attack.

“This is between us and Prairie Fire. Leave now, and I’ll pretend this didn’t happen, ” Gu Cheng demanded angrily.

“Oh, I’m so scared.” ‘I want to be silent’ mocked coldly.

“Are you guys ganging up because you think we, the Dark Camp have fewer people?” A Priest, dragging a shadowy figure, dashed into the arena. Her ID read: Thousand Illusion Ice Feather.

Soul Scream!

A piercing shriek came from the Priest’s mouth, leaving two close combatants in terror, their bodies uncontrollable and running around frantically.

Shadow Touch, Holy Light Punishment, Shadow Flagellation!

One after the other, three instantaneous skills fell on the head of the elite berserker.

His body was entwined by a tentacle that drilled out of the ground, then a blaze of Holy Light descended, followed by a terrifying surge of shadow energy.

The Berserker roared, the tentacles binding him burst apart, his body seemed to float amidst a mist of blood, a flash of light flickered, and he applied another Roar skill.

Despite being half-harmed, he showed no vulnerability and rushed towards the emerging Priest.

The Paladin, who was originally intended to charge at Li Yao from Gu Cheng’s side, was filled with fear. Upon seeing his girlfriend killed by the High Elf Druid that emerged, he roared and turned to kill the unique Druid named I Just Want

To Be Quiet.

“Come on, I’m not scared of close combat.’

As a Beast Form Assassin, the Sabertooth Tiger was not at an advantage when fighting head-on with the high defense warriors and knights, yet he showed no vulnerability.

Roar…

The Sabertooth Tiger’s body transformed again, and an Amani War Bear clad in battle armor appeared, roaring as it initiated a charge.

Boom…

I Just Want To Be Quiet who took the initiative to charge, landed on the Paladin’s face. The Amani War Bear was one of the most brutal species among the bear species; it was said that it had the blood of demi-gods flowing in its veins, possessing partly inherited divine power.

The Paladin was instantly in disarray. While the Amani War Bear launched a claw strike, it once again shifted back into Sabertooth Tiger form. Claw Strike, Claw Strike, Rend, Wound.

After recovering, the Paladin launched his Sanction Hammer, but I Just Want To Be Quiet again morphed back into the thickly armored Amani War Bear.

Meanwhile, the data of the two players again manifested on the screen.

High Elves Mutated Druid!

In the distant ancient era, when High elves and Ancient elves hadn’t yet differentiated, the Druids who inherited nature’s path were only prevalent among Ancient Elves.

High Elves, who specialized in arcane magic, thought the Druidic spellcraft was only practiced by commoners, and thus they deprecated it.

Thousands of years later, the High Elf Kingdom was heavily hit by the disaster legion, and the kingdom was in turmoil. Some High Elves realized that only Arcanic magic couldn’t protect the kingdom. They then began to research other forces, hence the High Elf Druids emerged.

This is precisely the power that I Just Want To Be Quiet is harnessing currently, the only High Elf Druid among the players at this stage.

The Light-Dark Priest!

Undead using the power of Holy Light would have been the most ridiculous joke a year ago. However, the ‘Forgotten’ have toppled this conception.

Although they are undead, they are different from the general mindless or controlled Undead; they can use the power of Holy Light.

The queen of the Forgotten attached great importance to this. It is also a crucial reason why the Dark Camp accepts the Forgotten.

The Forgotten are, after all, the dead who control death and darkness. They combined the force of ancient evil gods and Holy Light, transcending the general power of darkness, giving rise to the Light-Dark Priest.

There were also introductions of some elite categories of Gu Cheng’s side, but as the ones being oppressed, the players barely showed any interest, hardly paying attention.

Li Yao blocked Gu Cheng’s path with a series of Shadow Rolls, laughing, “Sorry, I too was surprised to encounter an enthusiast. It seems we’ve now squared off.’

“You caught me by surprise last time, thought it was just an accident. Do you actually believe you’re more than a match for me?” The body of the Gray Wolf Druid that Gu Cheng transformed into began to fade and gradually become transparent.

The Ghost Wolf Druid!

The Ghost Wolf Druid is a mutation of the Claw Druid. Its common Panther form has been replaced by a more mysterious, bloodthirsty, and rampant predator — the Ghost Wolf form.

The Ghost Wolf has one remarkable characteristic, due to its spectral body, it can avoid a considerable amount of physical and magical attacks, inherently reducing the inflicted damage.

Equally notable….
