MMORPG: Divine Mech Hunter

Chapter 83 - 83: The Curtain Falls

The situation now left Naihe Bridge both stunned and infuriated. In his eyes, extending an olive branch to an idle player as a large guild was already giving ample respect.

Such a player, even if not grateful to tears, should know better than to reject it outright. Previously, they did just like this and rarely any idle players dared to fight against the large guild alone.

Although there were often tales of how a certain player pissed off a certain guild and caused them heavy losses, the reality was that stray gamers suffered the most.

Even a brave man can’t beat the number. Especially in a game that has virtually no law, a large guild can mobilize too many resources, far beyond what an average player can resist.

However, against Li Yao, a madman who was always ready to fight, and yet a single player, it was a real headache.

Worse yet, they couldn’t even deal with him now, which ever increased their headache.

“Prairie Fire, I’ll remember you this time.” Naihe Bridge gritted his teeth and yelled, “Don’t bother running, there’s no escape. All ranged attacks target Prairie Fire.”

Players currently being attacked soon realized that they were surrounded by monsters and couldn’t escape. Their previous failed escape had already proven that running was nothing but a fast track to death.

Prairie Fire was currently on his mount and could evade one or two attacks, but he surely couldn’t dodge everyone’s. If someone killed him, his mount would naturally disappear.

“Pity, I’ll never remember you.” Li Yao said, pulling the trigger again.

An orange bullet shot out and suddenly dispersed into dozens of smaller bullets that rained down on the crowd. Although they weren’t densely packed, their arrangement wasn’t scattered either. Many players were within the area of his widespread attack.

However, this time no player evaded his bullets. Without needing instruction from Naihe Bridge, melee players wisely played the role of meat shields, covering ranged players and eating the brunt of Prairie Fire’s attack.

Because of the area attack from Fire Eagle and Li Yao’s Arrow Rain, many players were already on their last legs. Especially in the early stages, it was impossible to heal so many players at once.

By blocking Li Yao’s bullets, at least a dozen players turned into light and fell. Seeing this, many ranged players felt their eyes go red.

Their bloodshot eyes fixed firmly on Li Yao, as if he were some unforgivable evildoer. However, they seemed to forget that they had gathered here to specifically kill Li Yao and reduce his level to zero.

However, the situation was now reversed.

Li Yao didn’t feel the slightest pity and understood their plan perfectly. If it were any smaller mount, their plan might have worked. However, Li Yao was riding a large Dragon Eagle.

Li Yao saw the magic fly out and instantly lowered himself onto the back of the Dragon Eagle. From below, Li Yao was nowhere to be seen.

Boom boom boom…

One after another, Magic Bullets hit the Dragon Eagle’s body, exploding into brilliant light that resembled Stunning Fireworks in the night sky.

However, this was their swan song.

The assaulted Dragon Eagle once again roared in rage, sounding like a thunderclap in the air.

Rumble rumble…

Dozens of lightning bolts flashed dazzlingly and came down, turning the night into day.

Much of the Higanbana’s players watched in surprise as their bodies were hit with dazzling light. Then, they dropped to the ground like charred debris. A large amount of white light rose, their souls left their bodies and returned to the graveyard.

“Feel free to find me anytime, I’ll be waiting for you, Higanbana. I’m curious to see what Higanbana can do to me.” Li Yao stirred his mount and flew over to Naihe Bridge who was protected by squad members. He looked down from a high place and said.

“You’ll see.” Naihe Bridge said with a blank face. Today’s events were already irreversible. The guild had suffered a huge loss, which would affect their race to level ten, and it would also affect the exploration of the mainline copy. Li Yao was now loathed to the bone, but in his current weak state, he was powerless.

“I said, I’ll be waiting.” Li Yao slowly loaded the bullet, aimed slightly and pulled the trigger slowly. “Go back to the graveyard and be a level one newbie.

Have a fresh start.’

Naihe Bridge didn’t blink, nor did he dodge or resist the incoming attack, for he knew it would be useless.

Unable to fight off or outrun it, he was truly in a desperate situation. Death was the only option.

“Pack up, we’re leaving.”

After a quick glance over the remnants of players that had been taken care of by the eagle, Li Yao casually tossed out a mechanical part.

The eagle grabbed the part like a flash of lightning, let out a cheerful cry, and then began collecting the gear dropped by the other side.

Li Yao waited a moment, then simply nodded towards Flaming Red Lips without saying anything else before urging his mount to get away from that place once again.

They had obtained the necklace, and had won the rewards from the Cow Mother quest, there was simply no value in staying here any longer. Now they needed to figure out a way to get into Undercity to see the queen.

At this stage, the main cities in each region were not open to players and due to the current low abilities and status of players, entering a main city was not a simple task.

What’s that, you say you want to see the queen for an important matter? What a nutcase! Finish them off quickly, throw them into the graveyard. Maybe after a while, they’d rise as a new undead with intelligence. If they didn’t, they could still serve as perfect targets for the newcomers to practice on.

If Li Yao tried to attempt to reason with the guards, this would be the resulting outcome.

After the eagle finished picking up the gear, it quickly flew up and dropped a bunch of equipment.

“Prairie Fire is really strange. Even going as far as having his pet help him loot. It serves him right,” Lily grumbled as she dashed over and collected the discarded gear.

“White-grade gear, don’t bother picking it up,” Lotus Rain warned as she recognized the gear’s low quality.

“Damn, both the pet and its owner are shabby,” Lily grumbled, throwing the white-grade gear away.

“It’s really your lack of brains. I told you that you’re brainless because of your big breasts, but you never believe me.” Lotus Rain laughed covering her mouth:

“Now that it’s really over, let’s return to camp.”

As the several female players left, peace returned to the area once again. The players from the opposing guild didn’t revive, fearing Li Yao might return for them. That would be truly tragic.

So they chose to log out and wait till daybreak to revive.

Meanwhile, Li Yao, who was not particularly concerned, had become the hot topic of discussion after being announced as the first player to kill the Cow Mother boss, surprising all players online.

What exactly is the Cow Mother quest, what rewards did it offer? Due to the emergence of this quest, the official website also posted a simple introduction to it.

Many players have been inquiring about the video, but Li Yao pays them no mind, he was too busy traveling and watching live streams. The journey to Undercity was still a long one.

Even though Li Yao refused to post it himself, other people did. First, the guild that had not won any rewards released a video that depicted Li Yao as a murderous demon after editing it, subtly discrediting him.

Some players who did not know the truth, as well as some internet trolls, joined in the defamation of Prairie Fire’s reputation.

They were unable to record Li Yao killing the boss alone. Even if they did, they certainly wouldn’t help him publicize it. The scenes they could record were only those they had participated in themselves.

The Guild of Hundred Flowers also released a video that featured the powerful Cow Herder, which stunned many people.

The strength shown by elite players stunned average players, making them realize the extreme difficulty of elite tasks.

Especially Flaming Red Lips, although she failed, nobody thought that her failure was something to be embarrassed about. Her explosive damage output amazed everyone. But even such a powerful character had failed, sharpening the perceptions of Prairie Fire’s strength for players who knew of him.

In the game, for a while, many female players expressed their desire to join the Guild of Hundred Flowers.

And because of Lotus Rain explaining how Li Yao had defeated the boss, it piqued the curiosity of many players. They all tagged Prairie Fire’s forum ID, hoping for him to release his videos.

However, Li Yao never responded. The heated arguments that occurred daily on the forum didn’t interest him.

Arguing on the forum was just pointless and it would only give the other guild an opportunity to muddy the waters, making things more complicated.

Plus, the reasonable gamers didn’t really care. Just like Li Yao said, there were countless arguments happening on the forum over boss kills and looting. The game had been running for several days now, and it wasn’t anything new

anymore…
