MMORPG: Divine Mech Hunter

Chapter 76 - 76: Burn, Flame!

“You’ve gotta be kidding me! Mowing them down as a group like this, are you even human?”

Naihe Bridge was almost in tears. They too had group attack spells and skills, but their damage was nowhere near enough. It took them many casts to wipe out just one mob, and that was only because the enemy’s HP was low at this part of the cow level.

If they ran into higher level mobs, group kills would be unthinkable without being an elite.

But what had he just seen? Two skills had wiped out the majority of the mobs.

The flurry of damage numbers filling his vision was dizzying. Wasn’t Hunter’s attack power supposed to be lackluster at this stage? Yet this damage output was more than double his own.

Speaking of which, that Fire Bird’s damage was even more absurd, off the charts on the damage meter, even higher than the damage from Prairie Fire’s Arrow Rain. This kind of combo was simply terrifying.

“Is that all you’ve got? It’s still early.” Li Yao’s eyes sparkled with mockery.

Huffing and puffing, Naihe Bridge was near madness, but he couldn’t focus on probing Li Yao’s abilities any longer. He quickly commanded his team to deal with the small mobs.

The MT couldn’t hold aggro against a dozen mobs. To prevent the mobs from attacking the Altar and draining its durability, aside from the healer, every kiting-capable class started kiting the bull mobs. This bought the MT some breathing room; no way could the MT hold aggro against so many mobs, and the healer couldn’t keep up either.

“Keeping calm over there, huh? Still refusing to use an elite skill.” Li Yao watched the Baihua Alliance utilize the same tactic as Bi’an did and relaxed a bit.

“You really are…”

Lily was about to say that Li Yao was unscrupulously cunning, but in a competition between three groups, using any means necessary was fair game. Although she was annoyed, she didn’t voice it.

After witnessing Li Yao’s clean mob clear just now, and remembering the terrifying number of mobs killed in the first round, the two teams had long given up hope for first place.

Now they were competing on who could hold on longer. Even though they wouldn’t end up as the ultimate victor…

They wouldn’t be the ultimate loser either. At least every member could get a

top-tier Blue Equipment and a regular Skill Rune.

No need to mention the value of Blue Equipment. As for Skill Runes, they were a rare find.

Every savvy gamer could see the preciousness of Skill Runes, so the two teams had completely given up on Li Yao and were pushing fiercely for second place.

“Listen, hotshot. We know you’re a big shot, okay? Can you slow down a bit?” Even Fuyu was breaking a sweat. Every member of her team was in danger, and she was starting to feel overwhelmed.

“Don’t worry, with your Leader around, first place may be out of reach, but second place is in the bag. Whether I’m fast or slow, the result will be the same.” Li Yao benevolently explained.

“Easy for you to say.”

Fuyu rolled her eyes at Li Yao, but she couldn’t afford to pay him any more attention because the fifth wave of mobs had spawned – fifteen bulls.

Just fifteen bulls? Li Yao didn’t even bat an eye. He released an Arrow Rain, using the Fire Hawk’s Fire Breath to finish off the bulls that had been whittled down by the Arrow Tower.

Again, in less than ten seconds, the system made an announcement.

“System: Prairie Squad has wiped out the fifth wave of mobs. The sixth wave will spawn in 10 seconds.”

The two junior squads were completely dumbfounded. They were already struggling with over twenty mobs; they couldn’t possibly clear them all.

Damn, was this guy cheating?

The gamers in the two junior squads were teetering on the brink of despair. They didn’t have any way of dealing with this, but they couldn’t really ask Prairie Fire to stop, could they? That would be a joke.

“Damage dealers, stop kiting the bull mobs. Focus on DPSing down the same mob.”

Naihe Bridge was also about to lose it. What kind of monster had they provoked? This kind of DPS was insane. There was no way they could see victory; the match was basically over as soon as it began.

“But if we give up on the bull mobs, they will start attacking the Altar. If we lose all of our durability, we fail.” The healer of Naihe Bridge’s squad broke out in a cold sweat. He couldn’t keep up.

“Carry out the commands, everyone focus on hitting the mobs I’m hitting. All we need to do is hold on longer than those pansies.” Naihe Bridge paused before continuing, “As for that weirdo over there, do you think we still have a chance?”

His heart was full of bitterness as he said these words, but there was nothing he could do. Hanging on to second place was indeed the wisest choice now.

The Altar was durable, and could hold on for a while, but the team members, especially those who were squishy, were not holding up well. If they all died, they would obviously lose.

“Sis, I can’t keep up anymore,” Fuyu said with a crestfallen face, “Should we drop aggro and let the mobs take out the Altar, like them?” “Do you trust me?” Flaming Red Lips suddenly asked.

“Of course we trust you,” the team members responded without hesitation.

“That’s enough then. Give it your best shot, it’s okay even if we get wiped. You don’t lose levels from getting beaten up in a mission like this. I will maintain our second place.” Flaming Red Lips’ eyes flashed with a hint of light, then she added, “And as for first place, who knows who will win in the end.”

“It’s our fault for dragging you down,” said Fuyu solemnly.

“Nonsense, you’d get the tough quests sooner or later, too,” comforted Flaming Red Lips. “Why are we being so formal with each other?”

Then the ten-second countdown passed. The sixth wave spawned eighteen bull mobs. Counting in the existing ones, the two junior squads had to deal with at least forty.

Li Yao wiped out over a dozen mobs in seconds, and the system started the countdown once again.

The two junior squads couldn’t even find the strength to complain. They were just sweating away trying to clear the bull mobs. Inside, they were shattered and cursing Li Yao ten thousand times over.

Mobbing like this was commonplace in other games, but they were playing The Ancient God World. Mobbing equated to suicide here, never before had they heard of anyone playing it this way, except for the mad man Li Yao.

It had to be said, Naihe Bridge’s strategy did prolong the survival of his team members, but now casualties began to appear in Red Lips’ team.

With the seventh wave of mobs appearing, both junior squads found themselves packed in by bull mobs. As Li Yao annihilated the seventh wave…

The surroundings of the other two squads were completely filled with bull mobs and their casualties were rapidly increasing.

Suddenly, only Fuyu and Flaming Red Lips were left in the Baihua League squad. Naihe Bridge’s squad was down to three members, with their Altar’s durability down to less than fifty.

“Hahaha! Little pansies, we’ve won this time!”

Naihe Bridge boisterously laughed seeing Fuyu also succumbing to the mob. All he needed was to take the second place, and his strategy would be successful. As for the mad man Li Yao, he had already filtered him out.

Li Yao crossed his arms dismissively, “Seems like you’re just as dimwitted as I thought. This is a competition between me and Flaming Red Lips. Who do you think you are?”

As Li Yao spoke, the eighth wave of twenty-four bull mobs showed up. Nonetheless, they were little more than fodder to him. He took them all out in a matter of seconds.

“What are you blabbing about? She’s a fire mage with no teammates left. What can she do?” Naihe Bridge shouted in excitement.

“Wait and see.”

At this very moment, Flaming Red Lips’ body burst into scorching flames, her hair ignited as her figure twisted into that of a Werewolf. A Werewolf ablaze with red flames issued a roar skyward…
