Chapter 293 Since You Can’t Play, Let’s Hang Up!

The question from Baldy froze both Sea Serpent and Monkey. Monkey stopped trying to solve his Rubik’s cube, looked up, frowned, and said, “It doesn’t seem like it.”

Sea Serpent, on the other hand, scratched his head in confusion, and said, “I don’t remember him going out either.”

The room momentarily became quiet.

The iPad displayed the thermal image of Su Yang’s room in the silent hotel room.

After a while, Baldy slapped the table. “This isn’t right! Let’s retreat!” After saying that , he stuffed the iPad into the bag and quickly packed his things. Sea Serpent and Monkey shed their laziness and irritability away as well as they quickly got up to help Baldy neatly put the equipment away.

Because of their cautious nature, the three men refrained from bringing any personal effects into the room so there was nothing but the equipment in the room. After they packed the equipment, they got up and left. They were calm and ‘business-savvy’ despite feeling like they had to hurry in their hearts. As they left the hotel, they made sure to exit like ordinary people and didn’t even bother checking out of their room.

Once outside the hotel, all three hailed down a taxi on the roadside, gave the driver a location, and was immediately driven there.

Then, all of them got into a car they had parked there earlier and rounded the Paul’s Hill area before ending up at a hotel that didn’t require any ID to book a room.

“Three rooms, please.” Baldy slapped the money on the counter.

The hotel owner looked up at the three of them and requested for identification. “ID cards.”

Baldy bared his teeth and smiled. “The three of us had an emergency and forgot to bring them.”

The hotel owner took a closer look at them and finally took the money.

As he looked for their room card, he cautioned, “Don’t cause any trouble for me. If I smell something off, I’ll just call the police.”

Baldy replied, “No, no. We’re all decent people.”

“Yeah.” The hotel owner nodded before taking out three room cards to give to them.

Baldy took the room cards and went upstairs with Sea Serpent and Monkey

After they entered their rooms, all three took turns to leave their rooms through different means. They left through the front and back entrances of the hotel before walking for a kilometer. Then, they hailed another taxi.

After getting in a taxi once more, all three went to a fancy hotel and checked in once more.

This time, Baldy pulled out his ID card. After checking in, the three didn’t return to their respective rooms. Instead, all of them went to Baldy’s room.

When they arrived at the room, the three men were silent.

Monkey brought out a Rubik’s cube from his pocket, scrambled it grumpily, and said in a muffled voice, “Have we really been exposed this time?”

Baldy touched his wrinkly head. “I guess so. Else, explaining the anomalies that happened wouldn’t be that difficult.”

After saying that, Baldy extended his thick fingers. “There are three points. Firstly. There should clearly be two people in the room. One was him while the other was a woman. However, after the woman took her orders from him, she was no longer heard from. “Secondly. He suddenly said some odd things and made an appointment with someone to meet outside. I arrived half an hour late because I couldn’t find the location but the other person didn’t even leave. It was like he had been waiting for me. “Thirdly. He obviously got home but wasn’t in his room in the middle of the night.

“That’s obviously when he discovered the abnormality. It was shortly after he came in. He deliberately staged a play to delay us so he could investigate us.”

Sea Serpent’s black eyes were much heavier, and he raised his hand lazily, “I agree with Baldy’s analysis.”

Baldy looked at Sea Serpent and continued, “I also have a feeling that that so-called (Virtual Space] should be one of their group’s strongholds. Once they discovered our surveillance, he had that woman sneak off to that stronghold.”

“As for the things he said after that along with those abnormal sounds, it’s likely that he made those up to delay us. “After all this time, he’s probably already mobilized his forces to locate us. Let’s be careful and leave our original location behind. We’ll continue from here.”

His statement seemed to make sense to both of them, and Monkey muffled his reply as he continued his attempt at solving the Rubik’s cube in his hands. “Hmm.”

Sea Serpent yawned and squinted. “We were so careful. Even if they’re tailing us, we probably shook them off. I’ll go back to sleep first then... So sleepy.”

Baldy replied, “Go ahead. I feel like we’ve been able to tentatively determine that he’s our target. The next thing to think about is how we’re going to deal with him.”

Monkey nodded, got up, and walked out with Sea Serpent. The room became calm once more.

Baldy watched the door close, but the smile on his face slowly diminished.

His eyes flickered and he frowned again, whispering to himself, “It’s definitely true that we’re exposed. But... . when were we exposed? Were we really exposed when we first entered his room?

“If that (Virtual Space] was something he said by accident... Could it be something special? Two people disappearing into thin air...” Baldy stroked his bald head. “Is there something supernatural, or some unknown technology?

“It’s interesting, really interesting.”

Back in the room Monkey irritably took out an apple from the bag and quickly cut it. Then, he put away the knife in his hand, his eyes seemingly furious.

After a while, he threw the apple into the trash can and didn’t wash up. He just laid on the bed, rolled the blanket over his body, and kept his clothes on as he went straight to sleep.

Sea Serpenthad a meeting in the other room and could hardly keep his eyes open as he yawned. However, he was nowhere near as sleepy as he had been during the meeting when he entered his own room. He kicked off his shoes and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window. There, his eyes glazed over as he gazed out at the bustling Shanghai, and didn’t speak for a long time. With an intriguing half-smile on his face, he got up, went to the bathroom, took a shower, blew his hair out, climbed into bed in slow motion, and turned off the main switch in his room.

“Click! Click! Click!” As the lights were turned off in succession, the room plunged into darkness...

Meanwhile, Su Yang had been listening to Satantan’s report from the virtual space, “Master Su Yang, the drone you spoke of has appeared. It’s hovering by your window.”

“Master Su Yang, the drone has been parked here.”

“Master Su Yang, the drone has been flying around your house for a week.” “Master Su Yang, the drone isn’t moving.”

“Master Su Yang, the drone hasn’t moved for 10 minutes.”

“Master Su Yang, the drone hasn’t moved for an hour.”

Su Yang was half lying on the sofa and was in the middle of a MOBA game while listening to Satantan’s voice echoing from the living room. Halfway through the reports, he raised his head, a little confused. “The drone hasn’t moved for an hour? Why? If it can’t see anything, why isn’t it leaving?”

Su Yang was a bit baffled.

He would never have guessed that the person controlling the drone has discovered Su Yang’s knowledge of their existence. They had abandoned their drone in their escape.

After a while, Satantan said, “Master Su Yang, that drone seems to have accidentally crashed. It fell down and crashed.”

“Crashed? Fell down?’

Su Yang felt like the events were simply too peculiar.

He thought about it and asked Janet to morph into her (Water Form) to go out, break off the drone’s power supply, and bring it home.

Soon, Janet returned to Su Yang with the wreckage of the drone along with a pile of broken parts.

After inspecting it, Su Yang found that... The information on it was completely unreadable.

Once Satantan returned, Su Yang gave it the (Video Tape To Make Up For Regrets) and asked it to extract its memories from that night.

After extracting it, Su Yang gave Little Deeny the video of Satantan’s memories and the wreckage of the drone to analyze.

After that, he had nothing else to do so he fell into a deep sleep.

When he woke up the next day, Su Yang found that there was an additional interface in front of him. Apparently, Little Deeny had already made a report and put it in front of him. Su Yang opened it and read it. He realized that Little Deeny had set up a core specializing in learning various knowledge branches related to drones and cameras.

Then, she discovered that this drone had three cameras. A regular camera, an infrared night-vision camera, and a thermal imaging camera.

After analyzing the data along with Satantan’s memories, she also found that the drones switched cameras twice when it was being operated. Later, it stopped moving once it switched to the thermal imaging camera.

After stopping for close to an hour, a gust of wind threw the drone off balance so it hit the wall and got damaged.

‘Thermal imaging?’

Su Yang opened another interface, looked up the function of the camera, and found that it could display an image as long as the object gave off heat. Even if the object was behind walls or curtains, an image would still be available.

Su Yang was dumbfounded.

‘Is this even possible? Why do you have all this equipment? Isn’t this military equipment?’

Su Yang felt that his intelligence and common sense had been crushed. The other party had too many tricks up their sleeves, and he was just an ordinary person that couldn’t think that comprehensively.

If this continued, he would definitely be exposed more and more!

Looking at Little Deeny’s analysis, the other party seemed incredibly cautious despite being in a pile of trouble themselves. Based on his estimation, they realized that Su Yang wasn’t there. So, they got afraid that they were being tracked and left, not wanting to be revealed. They were even willing to leave their drone behind.

If this confrontation continued, he would be played like a fiddle to death! After all, it seemed like preventing this confrontation was an impossible feat!

‘How am I going to reverse this disadvantage?’

Su Yang thought for a while and felt like there was only one way out.

‘It’s... Hang on.

‘As long I can add points to an item that can directly locate my opponent, I can win this ‘war’!’

With that in mind, Su Yang opened his system store and checked it out.

Gold Quest: (8056/10000).

Points: 2260.

Random Points: 0.

Bronze Points: 3.

Su Yang calculated that he had close to 2800 point coins last Wednesday along with another 3 random points.

However, he had added points to two masks Janet, and the (Grass Eating Iron Pot] these past few days. He also bought two Guardian Talismans — one to use on Janet, and the other for himself.

That cost him 3 Random Points and 700 coins.
