Cultivation Through Artifacts

Chapter 36: Show Me!

“After such a long time… It seems he has finally chosen a disciple and out of everyone present, he decided to choose him. Haha! It must be fate!”, thought Jas as he thought back to Logan’s past.

However, not everyone was as happy as Jas. Some of the experts around looked at Logan with both fire and visible competitiveness in their eyes, while few looked at him with an annoyed expression.

Even Scarlett who felt insulted a moment ago now looked extremely calm, while her eyes scanned Khal from top to bottom once again.

“Just what makes that boy so special to be chosen by him?”, thought Scarlett with a troubled mind.

She didn’t understand why Logan, a guy who always acted like he didn’t care about a thing in the world, suddenly get interested in someone like Khal.

Maybe the fact that Khal was able to hide his presence and make others believe he was Talentless made Logan intrigued, but Scarlett knew Logan.

Perhaps, he looked lazy and unreliable on the outside, but he she knew he was a powerful expert who wouldn’t choose without a solid reason.

However, nothing lasts forever, and this was also true for the surprise that Khal caused too.

After Logan and Khal stood still next to Jane and Liza, Jas nodded and said, “From this point onward, you can come forward one by one.”

And just like that, the process to decide who gets under which teacher continued.

Boys and girls after one another walked before the experts and waited in silence to be chosen at least by one if not more.

Some were able to get a teacher’s approval, but there were a few who couldn’t. As a result, those who failed to get a teacher, all got sent out of Moon Academy, without giving them another chance.

Time passed by slowly, and only half of the crowd remained.

However, even like this as more than a hundred cultivators stepped forward, the occasion where more than one expert wanted the same student never occurred again after Liza.

Or at least not until a boy, who Khal and Liza net once stepped forward and waited in a respected manner to be chosen.

“Nate?”, thought Khal with surprise, instantly recognizing the boy who was standing before him in the middle of the platform.

While Khal watched Nate’s calm expression in the middle, except Logan who just yawned slightly, all the remaining 8 teachers raised their hands, visibly wanting Nate to choose them as his instructor.

“!”

When others noticed this occurrence, everyone looked at Nate again, but this time with the greater examination.

Even Alde who was chosen by Robern in the very beginning looked at Nate with squinted eyes, trying to figure out what made him so special.

“He doesn’t have Natural Born Talent as your friend, but his Talent seems extremely powerful with great potential. It’s not a surprise at all that he is wanted by all of them.”

Hearing what Logan said with an unfazed expression, Khal stepped closer and asked in a lowered voice, “Then why didn’t Master want him?”

However, as a reply, Logan just waved his hand gently and explained, “Nah, he is still weak compared to you.”

“!?”

Not only Khal, but everyone else too froze up the moment they heard Logan’s statement.

Seeing Logan’s unfazed, but serious expression, Scarlett glanced at Khal yet again and thought, “There must be something that I have missed. There is no way someone like him would say such things on a whim.”

In the middle of the platform, however, Nate didn’t look troubled at all. He ignored what Logan just said and looked at the teachers one by one.

After thinking for a while, he walked before Jane, Liza’s Master, and bowed slightly.

“Please take good care of me, Master!”

The sight that Jane was chosen by another individual with a powerful Talent made every expert around feel jealousy or unhappiness.

Except for Logan. He was standing calmly on the side, while opening his mouth extra wide for a big yawn, showing that he was bored to death.

“When will this end? I didn’t sleep well last night and I feel sleepy.”, mumbled Logan as he looked up toward the sky.

The moment Scarlett and the others heard and saw this arrogant attitude of his from the side, they turned extremely annoyed under a second but decided not to say a single word.

They knew just what kind of person Logan was, so seeing him act like this could be said as his normal attitude. It was not a surprise at all but still annoyed them.

After Nate stood behind Jane where Liza and 3 other students were standing calmly, Jas signaled for the remaining people to continue walking forward one by one.

Time went by again in silence, and after close to an hour, everyone found a teacher.

Raffin and Jane choose a total of 11 students each, while Robern chose 18 and Scarlett selected 15 under her wings.

As for the other experts, the number of students was way more than the first 4.

The petite ‘girl’ with the huge sword chose for herself a total of 21 students, while the twins selected exactly the same amount, 26 each.

As for the creepy guy in the black suit, he chose just 16 disciples.

However, even like this, among the experts the only one who had only one pupil was Logan. Since he has chosen Khal, he didn’t look interested at all in anyone else, which surprised everyone presently completely.

“Perfect! It seems, everyone found their place.”, clapped Jas his hand gently and looked at each expert with their chosen students behind their backs.

“From this moment on, you have become a true part of Moon Academy! Remember, knowledge is power and skill is survival here! Only those who can broaden their knowledge and sharpen their skills can reach the top! After a month, I hope you will all grow stronger than you currently are and will show your true worth!”

After he said that, Jas waved his hand gently and vanished into thin air, leaving behind the experts and their chosen students before the huge mansion.

“Finally!”, sighed Logan loudly, making everyone to look at him with a deep frown instantly.

Seeing this, Logan ignored their piercing glares and turned around to look at Khal.

“Follow me. We have things to do.”

Instantly as he said that Logan made Khal to turn around and pushing him from behind, he led him away from the crowd.

Liza who saw Khal being dragged away by Logan looked deep in thought, but before she could have done or say anything, Jane moved too.

“Let’s go.”

And just like it was a signal, every expert started to move toward different ways with their disciples following them closely behind their backs.

Walking through Moon Academy, Khal watched as they passed several buildings and finally arrived before a small lake with a single tree on its shore.

However, except for that single tree and the crystal clear small lake, Khal was unable to see anything else in close proximity.

“Well, it is kind of relaxing to be here.”, thought Khal calmly as he looked around.

While Khal thought about how relaxing the place felt like, Logan sat down below the single tree’s shadow.

Putting his arms behind his head in a lazy manner and taking up a comfortable lying position, he looked at Khal calmly and stayed silent for a small while.

Only after a bit later did he open his mouth and said, “Okay, I’m ready. Now show me.”

But, when Khal heard that sentence, he instantly felt kind of strange but knew that what Logan meant under that sentence was his Talent.

He wanted to see his Talent.

So without hesitation, he started to activate his Talent, but before he could have activated it fully and make his Heaven’s Eyes to appear, Logan frowned and talked.

“What are you doing? I didn’t mean your Talent. I was talking about your body. Take your clothes off and show me your body!”

“…”

“Eh?”
