Chapter 246 The Angered Spirits

The pale man growled and slammed him into the tree. The tree broke in half, knocking everything out of Lee Seng as he tossed him to the side. Lee Seng went flying as the tree fell, falling straight for him.

"What the hell?" Ritsuka glanced over. Panic painted across his face and before he could even register what was happening. The cabin rustled and loud cackling was heard.

"Well, well, well." A pale woman with wiry hair shook her head. She stepped out of the cabin, her ethereal green eyes making eye contact with the boys and Florabelle. "If it ain\'t the skank who tried to be one of us for all those years. Look at you, you got what you wanted and you completely ignored us. You\'ve changed what\'s ours!" The pale woman screamed and more pale people started to appear around them.

"What the hell is happening?" Keng asked. Florabelle\'s happy exterior turned to concern.

"They\'ve shown themselves. In broad daylight." Florabelle muttered. Before Ritsuka could ask who they were, the pale humanoids rushed at them. Ritsuka\'s body reacted, moving backwards as a red energy glowed from his hands. He swung straight for the head of a pale man and watched as Angerfang decapitated the pale man\'s head in one go. The red scythe pulsed as it began to suck in the energy. Ritsuka twirled the blade and watched as the pale man\'s head and body reattached.

\'He got decapitated and yet he regenerated?\' Ritsuka raised his eyebrows in surprise as the pale man immediately lashed forward, slamming himself into Ritsuka, forcing him backwards.

"He didn\'t die?!?" Keng leapt into the air and watched as four or five people slam into each other. "What\'re these anyways?"

"The angered spirits!" Florabelle answered as she managed to flutter out of the grasp of the ghosts. The ghosts tackled Ritsuka onto the ground, lashing at him as he tried to protect himself.

"Foxes are meant to be hunted!" The ghosts chanted.

"Ritsuka!" Keng\'s form shimmered and slammed into the ground. The ghosts flew backwards as Keng landed and swung.

"Argh!" The ghosts screamed. Their pale bodies sizzled as Keng ran towards Ritsuka. Angerfang fell to the side as Ritsuka continued to be barraged by the ghosts.

"Get off him!" Keng ripped the ghosts off, tossing them to the side as they screamed in pain from the burn. "Ritsuka, are you okay?" Keng reached a hand out for Ritsuka, who took in, grabbing Angerfang and standing.

"Why\'re they all screaming? Did you do something to them?" Ritsuka asked as he watched the ghosts circle them, watching the two closely.

"Not sure." Keng readied himself. The group of ghosts jumped at them. Ritsuka twirled the scythe, making quick work of the ghosts, pulling their ethereal energy into the blade with each swing as Keng managed to land strikes onto the ghosts, igniting them with claw slashes. The ghosts cut by Ritsuka\'s Angerfang quickly healed its form, snickering as they forced Ritsuka backwards.

"I can\'t do anything about them. I\'m useless here." Ritsuka told Keng as they backed up into each other. The group of ghosts seemed to not thin out.

"That scythe can absorb Dark Matter energy, right?" Keng asked.

"Yeah, why do you ask?" Keng turned and grabbed the scythe.

"Take some of mine. Maybe it\'ll help." Keng told him. Angerfang started siphoning off Keng without its master\'s permission. Ghosts rushed at the two of them and Keng quickly pulled away from Ritsuka, extending his tails and slamming into the ghosts behind him. Angerfang\'s blade glowed a silver and green color.

"Gluttony: 1000 Bites!" Ritsuka burst forward, sweeping in front of him with the charged scythe. A single swipe across horizontally at the group expanded into tiny slashes all across the ghosts. He watched as the green and silver energy grew brighter. The green energy pulsing brighter as the ghosts fell to the ground. Their bodies smoked and didn\'t regenerate.

Keng spun around, pulling his tail back and watching the ghosts fall.

"I guess I know you\'re weakness now." Keng smiled at the wiry haired ghost woman.

Lee Seng\'s vision pulled in and out as he forced himself up. The crazy man that threw him was slowly walking towards him like he was in a movie where the bad guy was going to get the kill on the good guy. He groaned, clutching his house. He could feel blood on his body as he focused.

"You shouldn\'t have saved that Sprite. It was better off acting like one of us." The pale man grinned. He stopped, towering over Lee Seng as he tilted his head. He grabbed Lee Seng, who tried to pry the pale man\'s hand off of him, but couldn\'t find the strength to do so. "And you don\'t even know what you\'re fighting, huh?" The pale man lifted him up into the air, letting out a small laugh.

"Are you… those angry spirits…?" Lee Seng croaked out. The pale man smiled. His form turned transparent, answering Lee Seng\'s question. "Why can\'t… you just…" The ghost man slammed Lee Seng onto the ground. The ground cracked behind him as the ghost man pulled close to Lee Seng\'s face.

"Foxes should be hunted for their pelts, don\'t you agree?" The ghost smiled. He raised his fist and was about to punch Lee Seng when screams of pain echoed from behind them.

"Saviors?!?" The wiry haired woman screamed. Ghosts sizzled and screamed in pain as Keng raised his hand up. "You!" The woman pointed at Keng. "They finally sent a Savior to deal with us?!? I won\'t let you take us!"

\'Spirits fear the Saviors?\' Lee Seng thought. He watched the ghost man turn back and narrow his eyes.

"You have a Savior amongst your group?" The man\'s grin grew wider. "Then I should kill him!" His voice grew unrecognizable. He swung his fist straight for Lee Seng as Lee Seng\'s golden aura ignited. In one swift movement, Lee Seng ripped the man\'s hand off and pushed with his other hand, forcing a gravity blast out.

The ghost man flew backwards, cursing as he landed, shaking his burning hand.

"There\'s two of them?!?" The man shouted. "Guess I\'ll kill you first if you desire it!" Lee Seng jumped onto his feet and pulled the katana out. The ghost man rushed him, swinging at him. Lee Seng dodged, readying a strike as the ghost twisted his body and swung again. Lee Seng wetn for a block, watching the ghost\'s fist move through the blade and land a strike straight on his face.

Lee Seng and the ghost yelped in pain. Lee Seng moved backwards, keeping an eye on the ghost as the ghost grabbed at his arm. He began cursing as steam rose from his arm. Lee Seng dashed forward and slashed at the ghost. He began to dodge, trying his best to not get hit with the blade.

\'The blade is infused with my aura, so he\'ll naturally get hurt by the Light imbued within me.\' Lee Seng horizontally slashed, watching his blade connect, burning him.

"Argh!" The ghost man screamed. A slash mark appeared on his ethereal body. He continued to smoke.

\'I need to end this before he decides to do anything.\' Lee Seng pulled the scabbard out of its place and held it horizontally. He dashed forward as the ghost man finally pushed through the pain. Lee Seng picked up speed and flipped the scabbard. Fox-fires erupted all around them. HE quickly slashed with his scabbard, forcing the ghost man back and immediately blitzed him with fox-fires.

Smoke clouds flew up, Lee Seng ignoring it and pushing through. He jabbed the katana forward and sank the blade straight into the man\'s chest.

"Argh..!" The man croaked. Fox-fires flew straight for the ghost man. The ethereal form was pelted with the rest of the fox-fires and Lee Seng watched the man start to fade. A strike to Lee Seng\'s back sent him to the ground. "You actually thought you could hit me?" The man smiled. He plunged his fist into Lee Seng\'s body. The ethereal cold grip tightened onto his heart. He gasped, releasing the katana and scabbard in his hand.

"I\'m gonna make sure nobody sets foot in this area ever again!" The ghost man chuckled.

Keng and Ritsuka advanced on the woman. She screamed and the area around her started to decay. Her hair lashed forward and striked at the boys as Ritsuka swiped. The scythe and her hair connected. The ethereal green energy of the scythe started to pull out of the sword. She chuckled.

"If you think you\'re the only one who can siphon energy off of people, you\'re wrong!" The green and silver energy quickly fused into her hair. Her wiry hair began to grow thicker. Ritsuka tried to pull back but the hair\'s strength grew. Keng\'s hand shimmered. He slashed in the air and watched as flames erupted.

"Ignition Horizon!" Keng watched the flames ignite hair strands and immediately whittle it to nothing. The ghost woman released the scythe from her hair\'s grasp while blocking the attack. The two energies fought against each other and Keng and Ritsuka pulled backwards.

"The energy of my people and the sliver of Savior energy will do well for me!" The woman cackled as her hair tangled around the columns of the cabin and floor. The area around her decayed as she took a step forward. "Taking a Savior will make them fear me!" Her long hair shot forward. Keng started to move forward when he felt something was wrong.

"Argh!" Keng gasped as he started to fall.

\'What\'s… wrong with me…?\'
