A Husband For Killer Mom

Chapter 182 - 182 Ch. 182 Different Upbringing

“What is it?”

Anxia shook her head in response to Harmonie’s.

“Are you sure you’re okay? You can tell me if you need a listening partner. I am a good listener and a master at keeping secrets.” said Harmonie proudly, making Anxia smile warmly.

“Actually… it’s about….”

“Quinny?”

“…” Anxia wanted to tell Harmonie that this was the first time a boy had kissed her on the lips other than Richard and Lori. Even then, Lori was no longer kissing her lips when Richard forbade the little girl. Richard always said that Anxia’s lips were his alone and didn’t want others to taste hers, even if that person was her own daughter.

However, Harmonie misunderstood and thought Anxia was thinking about Quinn. How interesting.

“Anxia, ??I can guess Richard’s reluctance to meet Quinn. At first, I thought Richie just wanted to avoid her and was too lazy to attend Uncle Leo’s invitation. But it seemed his reluctance did not come from him alone. Have you met Quinny before?”

.....

Harmonie was very much like her brother. The girl was very good at digging up information, and the way the girl asked her was very subtle, making Anxia want to answer it immediately and spill all her heart out.

“I did meet her before.”

“Did something happen?”

“Not really.” Anxia didn’t know if she could reveal what Quinn had done to Lori. She didn’t know if Harmonie viewed Quinn as a stranger or as her closest relative―she didn’t know if Harmonie was on her side or defending Quinn.

On that note, Harmonie wouldn’t deserve to be Richard’s sister if she wasn’t able to provide comfort to make Anxia’s defense wall collapse entirely.

“You can insult her in front of me―I don’t like Quinn either. Every time she paid a visit, she snatched my toys and sought my brothers’ attention to the point they would forget that I was their sister. She always put on a sweet facade to make my mom adore her and buy her anything she wants. If my mom wasn’t the best mother in the world, I’m afraid she even would snatch my mother from me.”

“Oh, yeah? How do you know?”

“My mom occasionally refused her wish to take my toys home by giving her another toy. At first, mom persuaded me to give in and give her my toys, and I never complained and let her take mine. But when my mom realized Quinn was being selfish towards me, she became firm and gave a long, nice earful to Quinn.”

Anxia smiled upon hearing that. She could imagine an arrogant and confident girl like Quinn sitting in silence while listening to Meisya’s lengthy guidance.

Meisya was a patient and full of affectionate woman. But when someone annoyed her or her children crossed the line, the woman would give a super long speech to make anyone who heard it submit.

“What about her brother? If I’m not mistaken… his name is Andrew?”

“Ah, Brother Andrew is the best. I can’t even choose between Andrew and my two brothers. He is very kind and dotes on his sister, but he occasionally scolds her. He’s unfortunate to have Quinn as his sister. Otherwise, he would be any girl’s dream man. And, he is also very patient like Rei.”

One of Anxia’s eyebrows rose upon hearing this. Why did Harmonie only mention Raymond’s name in the last sentence? Can Richard not be patient?

“What about Richie? Can he not be patient with you?”

“He can. It’s just he always gets out of control when someone ridicules me, and it was a pain in the neck.”

Anxia recalled that Richard could take whatever she did to annoy him, but the man was furious when a threat of danger lurked around to harm her or Lori. Moni’s admiration for a man named Andrew made Anxia curious―she became eager to meet the man.

“By the way, aren’t the two of them brother and sister? They have two parents in common and grew up together. But why are their natures so contradictory?”

Anxia couldn’t understand how it was possible for two people who had the same parental upbringing to have such different traits. It was proven for Stanley and Meisya’s upbringing that their children had warm, welcoming, and affectionate demeanors toward people around them―they were easy to get along with.

Even the way Raymond looked at his wife warmly and lovingly was no different from the way Richard looked at Anxia or Stanley looked at Meisya.

Anxia knew the Calvin siblings grew up with an abundance of love from their parents, and now they have exemplary character thanks to the upbringing and guidance from Stanley and Meisya.

What’s different about the Heinest siblings―Andrew and Quinn?

Even though each person has their character seeds when they are born into this world for the first time, these characters are nurtured and grow as the child grows―all the teachings of parents, the school environment, and the association of friends that form a person’s character.

Anxia was confused by this extreme difference, and Harmonie’s indifferent answer made Anxia widen her eyes.

“It’s very easy. It was because Uncle Leo nurtured Brother Andrew while Aunt Madeline nurtured Quinny.”

“…” Anxia didn’t expect this unexpected answer at all. Why didn’t Leonard Heinest nurture Quinn as he did to Andrew? Thanks to that, Quinn had grown up to be a prideful, selfish woman and justify any means to get what she wanted.

But Anxia didn’t think much of it because the other family’s affairs were none of her business. Anxia decided to play with Eugene while chatting casually with Harmonie.

Not long after, Michele, who wanted to give milk to her son, joined them.

The three of them chatted happily as if they had no burden or thought about the shooting that occurred a few days ago.
