Chapter 1085 Manifesting Intent
Inwardly letting out a sigh of relief, Mystia looked at the young man before her with a smile, only to let out a chuckle soon after. "To think he actually just needed that little push to finally get the ball rolling."
In full honesty, ever since she got a message from Valyr in regards to the Intent of Mystic Energy, she already prepared herself to guide the young man as much as she could in order for him to eventually comprehend it.
After all, it was the least she could do in exchange for the great amount of help he\'d given back in the Mystic Plane.
Aside from that, allowing the young man to comprehend an Intent of Mystic Energy would undoubtedly boost his prowess to a higher degree, which had already become evident the moment he showed her the strand of blue-white energy he created.
\'Then again, you should expect a Zeihardt to at least do that much,\' briefly thought Mystia to herself. \'Well, considering he\'s the second Harbinger, even more so.\'
"It\'s definitely a shame I couldn\'t help out more, though," murmured Mystia to herself as she continued on her train of thought, being reminded once more that she lucked out this time around.
As the Imperial Alchemist of the Meltierre Heavenly Court, it went without saying that Mystia was privy to information that allowed one to form an Intent faster, utilizing constructs and items that seemingly had connections to the universe itself.
However, even though she knew of these methods, that did not mean that she had the means to make use of it.
Of course, it was not because she lacked the knowhow or the expertise necessary to utilize those methods. Instead, it was because she lacked the necessary resources to obtain those items in the first place, the cheapest of which needed the wealth of an entire noble clan at the minimum to afford.
With that, she was left with no choice but to rely on her own comprehensions on forming Intent, making sure to impart as much as of her wisdom in her words as possible.
Letting out a long sigh as she removed all of the negative thoughts in her mind, Mystia took a brief look at the young man, immediately taking notice of the faint connection that was forming between him and the world.
"Seems like he\'s finally taken that first step," muttered Mystia to herself with a smile, thankful that it did not take much for the young man to finally start comprehending his Intent.
Thinking about the current situation for a bit more, she let out a chuckle as she joked to herself, "I guess this is my cue to become a teacher."
"Definitely a teacher for alchemy, though. Not for Intent."
Continuing to watch the connection forming around the young man gradually become stronger by the second, Mystia could not help but recall the time she\'d comprehended her own Intent of Mystic Energy, which was around the time when the Mystic Plane was still in a precarious state.
Having just become the Saintess of the Mystic Plane, Mystia and Marcus were forced to work together to stabilize the situation as much as possible, utilizing as much as of their individual power to defend against the onslaught of invaders that aimed to steal the plane\'s strength.
Being given the power of Mystic Energy, Mystia tried to make use of it as much as possible against those that attacked them, basically hitting two birds with one stone as she aimed to live up to the title of Saintess.
As far as she could remember, it was thanks to those tumultuous times that she was finally able to comprehend an Intent Seed related to Mystic Energy, which eventually turned into a bona fide Intent later down the line.
Comparing how she\'d gotten her Intent to how Valyr was gaining his own, the woman smiled once more, feeling as if the young man\'s contributions extended far more than just giving the Mystic Plane the stability it needed to truly have a place in the universe.
Swoosh!
"…Oh?" Just as she was still in the midst of fondly reminiscing over her past in the Mystic Plane, a change in the young man\'s connection caused Mystia to snap back to reality, her eyebrow raised in curiosity as she focused her senses on him in detail.
Realizing what was going on, the smile on Mystia\'s face turned into a grin as she conjured a thick barrier of energy around the young man.
Making sure that there was no way for him to be disturbed at what she felt was an important moment, Mystia nodded in satisfaction as she began to talk to herself once more.
"Well then."
"It seems Valyr is going to get a bit more than what he bargained for from this meeting."
…
Concept.
Ever since that word left Mystia\'s mouth, Valyr realized that the word was the missing piece he was looking for.
After all, for one to comprehend an Intent in the first place, one must first understand an underlying concept, a certain truth of the universe to a sufficiently high level.
Feeling the urge to admonish himself for overlooking something incredibly simple, Valyr inwardly took in a deep breath as he suppressed such thoughts for the meantime.
Wanting to make the most out of the opportunity Mystia had given him, the young man focused his thoughts on which concept related to Mystic Energy resonated with him the most.
Though he knew that he\'d have to encompass all of the other concepts he\'d ignored at some point in the future, the young man also knew that he had to choose a concept first in order for him to do just that.
With that, Valyr went over the knowledge he\'d accrued on Mystic Energy during his time in the Mystic Plane and his experiment, going over all of the findings he\'d made with the energy.
No matter how small the finding was, he went over each and every one of them in sufficient detail, taking his time to figure out what truly clicked with him.
Thankfully, it did not take long for him to find the one that clicked with him the most, the concept that he felt described Mystic Energy the best.
Limitlessness.
